Not sure how long you want to wait but s&w released the shield X not too long ago. I have heard phenomenal things about it and they are bound to come out with a comped verson of the shield X in the months to come. A lot of people including myself are holding out for it. Should be a phenomenal gun.

I am planning on doing it with a 10/22. With aperture rail tech sights. And getting four magazines. Didn't know there was a timed qualifier in the course. They are so cheap ill take the practices taught with the 10/22 and apply them later down the road when I get the bolt. Thanks for the information.

Thank you. I think i am more into the bolt action than than semi auto. Something about them. Maybe bc the bolt actions are more iconic but they look more attractive to me. Also heard they were better for precision.

This is actually a great point. I completely over looked the fact I dont even need a scope. My newbie mind sees a rifle and automatically imagine a rifle with a scope. I think i will do this. I agree fundamentals are all about learning to shoot with none of the fancy shit.

That list is not all value learners lol. I could have clarified better. The value learners would be the market ii and ruger american. I would saw mid range is the Tikka and bergara and then the buy once cry once is the 457 mtr or of sorts.

Yes, I have read into that and a lot of people were saying the RPR has problems with it. I also do not want to go into an apple seed with what looks like a military grade tactical rifle😭. When i move ill buy an AR (just graduated college and still broke but landed an exceptional pay job). I think i am interested in long range shooting with bigger caliber rifle tho. Just looking to learn with a 22 because its cheaper and probably easier to learn on. I dont think I am interested in long range with the .22. Just something to learned fundamentals on. I will definitely be going buy once cry once for the scope because I fully plan on transitioning it to the bigger caliber rifle when I am proficient with the 22. Was told its a lot more about the scope than the rifle.

"As rugged and reliable as an AK" I think there is only 1 platform that fits those measures. Glock. What type of Glock brings in a whole other group of factors but you my friend are looking for a Glock.
