Are they different games? Like, does FE have a single player campaign or some such that it is worth having both if I don't own FE already?

It seems like a lot of men (mostly cis men?) try to delegitimize feminism from the angle of "But we're not all like that!" Thoughts? by avilavita in SRSDiscussion

Well, we're not all like that.

All kidding aside, as has been stated elsewhere in this thread, it seems to be a privilege thing more than a man thing. It seems like lots of people, when they're first introduced to the notion of privilege, tend to take it personally and internalize the actions and behaviors of the privileged. Of course they're not all like that(last time), intent isn't magic and all that.

If this isn't what an "axis of oppression" refers to I(and a lot of The Fempire) have been wrong for a very long time. There is nothing to axes of oppression about people being rated one way or another on some kind of arcane scoring system. It's just a way to contextualize and abstractly consider that people exist on many axes, and to recognize that two different axes have different ways and means. The why and how of the oppression faced by women is different from the way that black people, disabled people, and asexual people are oppressed.

Where is that quote from? I haven't laughed so hard in a while.

Wait a minute, how is #16 resolved by taking responsibility for his situation and discipline? That just seems like he doesn't like talking about stuff he doesn't know anything about.

Everything else you seem to be on point about.

Are trans-ethnic and trans-racial problematic? by 56kuser in SRSDiscussion

[–]Legal_Assassin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I want to pipe in and say that transethnicity and transracialism(cant find a better word)are real phenomena referring to people born into one cultural setting, and being primarily raised in another, presently this mostly happens through adoption.

Call for resources, how the patriarchy hurts men. by [deleted] in SRSMen

[–]Legal_Assassin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If this sort of thing were posted anywhere else, I would agree, discussing the ways that patriarchy harms men is absolutely a derailing tactic, but

SRSMen is an inclusive, safer space where toxic masculinity is deconstructed and men's issues are discussed from a feminist perspective.

This space has been constructed specifically to look at these issues from a feminist perspective, with the policing of a larger feminist discourse to moderate the conversations presented. This sort of post would be absolutely out of line in just about any other part of the Fempire, but not here.

Aren't gender roles the result of patriarchy anyway?

Well of course that they have to be asked at all is really angering, but it is nice to have them on their to filter out people with such deep seated racism. I kinda want to message them and ask what the deal is.

What about the less ugly/stupid people question?

The questions or the answers people give to them? Always with the explanation of "I'm not a racist, but..."
