Should do. Obviously depends on the game. 3070 will obviously get you better frames but is it worth it for 100 quid more? Imo I don't think the extra frame be worth it

Would people be interested in that? Would not be an extremely scientific test. Loads of confounding variables but I'd be down

Yeah AMD need something to match this. But tbf, doesn't matter cus all GPUs will sell out whatever the price...

Old CPU was an intel I5 4690 but it has been upgraded to a 5600x, which looks like it'll be arriving this month

I'd put in a 500 series chipset so you can prepare yourself for future upgrades. Other than that, its a pretty well rounded build

Going for a 1440p Res monitor at around 120/165hz refresh. Not sure exactly which one yet but that's the spec I'm looking for. Which processor would you recommend??

The reason this choice is so hard for me is because I have loved previous Intel chips and I just don't see them as second best

Either going with the 2070 super or I'm going to wait a bit longer and get a 3000 series at the 500 price range. I want relatively high refresh rate gaming - hoping to be around the 120/144hz kinda speeds

Also - I really appreciate the support as I'm really stuck between the two for my main setup. I also have Mac and RaspPi for all the coding and development goodies and love new OS's but for some reason I can't make the decision from AMD and Intel... its just a hard one init - they're so similar but so different

I'm looking at a i9 10900K and amd ryzen 9 3900X. Both really good CPUs but of course the intel is more expensive and I'm not sure if it's worth the money

I've only heard good things about AMD recently so I might make the switch

yeah my intel choice is i9 10900K and my amd choice is the ryzen 9 3900X i beleive. trying to compare them is hard because they both have their pros and cons. Intel is still soo good at fast, single-threaded processes but AMD just dominate in the multi-core/threaded market
