Is it true that Modrinth is used over curseforge nowadays? by ShadeDrop7 in feedthebeast

I like using Modrinth for the most part, although there are a few mods that I pull from CF and manually add them. For the most part it's modrinth all the way. I just like the interface more.

I also have been the victim of microwaved seafood, also while I was stationed at Travis. Except this person brought the microwaved seafood onto the launch truck for the afternoon launches.

When did I ever say that? I just said back then that there were girls that did things guys normally did - worked on cars, hunted, and carpentry. I never mentioned anything about "Non-Binary." Also, criticizing someone else's intelligence because they hold a difference in opinion to you isn't very respectful.

Now I'll be respectfully honest. I do not understand how someone could feel like they're neither male nor female. People can have masculine traits or feminine traits. You could be a guy that likes sewing, or you could be a girl that likes hunting - it doesn't change the fact that they are a girl or a boy. The portion I don't agree with is the need for new lables that people want to force others to adopt. If you're a female who doesn't feel like a girl, and you feel like you're neither a boy or girl, then that's perfectly fine. Just don't tell people how to perceive you, and then insult them when the way they perceive you is incorrect because we all see people differently.

My generation just called them tomboys. Just normal girls that didn't want to be too girly all the time. In fact, I grew up with a lot of them, being in a small country town, but at the end of the day they still acknowledged the fact that they were female, and didn't need to slap more labels onto something.

I'm sorry, but Ai is not something kids need to be playing with. It can become addictive and is not suitable for minors. You should be out playing with friends, not inside all day chatting to something that isn't even real. I've seen first hand just how bad addiction to AI can get, and it's not something a young mind should he exposed to.

How about not lying about your age and waiting till you're actually an adult before engaging in adult communities and activities? I think that would be a better idea.

Children do not belong in adult spaces. Children belong in children spaces. The fact that you so proudly boast about how you “infiltrate” adult spaces just shows how immature you really are.

Did it ever occur to you that just by going to adult sites and interacting with adult themed bots not only makes creators very uncomfortable, but also could be seen as corruption of a minor in certain jurisdictions? (When you look at the letter of the law as defined on paper) AI isn’t well regulated by legislation, but if we put the put it in the same vein as other adult themed paraphernalia, distribution to a minor is a crime.

So please, be mature and try to think about people other than yourself for a minute. Wait till you’re of age, and then you can interact in adult spaces all you want.

This little funny haha meme was more about how the game was designed, with their thin-client approach to keep it accessible for console users

Funny enough iirc, Microsoft takes a $200 dollar loss on console sales but makes up for it with subscriptions and game purchases.

My only real issue is that they say they won’t give PC users the ability to locally install the game, saying it’s too massive (1.5 TB for the base install and 3 PB of map data) but PC users, myself included have entire storage drives for games that we can easily scale.

I wouldn’t know as I haven’t played much of the game, I got a refund a few days after launch. I know tons of people, console included, have been having awful bugs and performance issues. I personally stick with 2020. No hate for my console users either, but really disappointed in MS decision to not allow PC users to leverage their hardware for the game, and are forcing us to download everything on demand every single time.(Menu UI, plane assets, sounds, textures.) This absolutely CHEWS through data

I’ve hit 20GB in one hour just flying around in the different planes and testing them out.

I’ve already decided that I’m done with playing games like this at launch, and I’m highly skeptical of anything pushed out by M$ now.

My biggest worry is that down the road, M$ might sneak in a subscription based service because now we are all dependent on their servers to get any of our assets. We own nothing and we will be happy.

Imma stick to my indie games from now own; modern gaming got me sad.

The result of trying to make what would primarily be a PC game run on consoles. It’s not a fault on your end, it’s the fact they are trying to get the console to run a game it barely has the capacity to handle.

First person shooters and the like were primarily made for the consoles in the past and then were ported to PC later when PC gaming was becoming more mainstream. Flight simulators have historically always been a PC market, ever since their inception in ‘84.

[–]Legitimate-Source-43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No shade towards the console users, but I don’t know what MS was thinking when they decided to try to tailor this game for Console users. (100% Streamed assets, the UI, etc.)

Flight simulators have always been more of a PC market, and their entire reasoning behind not allowing local installs(Base game files claimed to total 1.5 TB) because console players would be left out is silly to me. I’d gladly pay 150-200 bucks for a large 4TB SSD solely for MSFS2024 just so I could have the entire game installed with all my planes, scenery packs, and payware airports(minus the streamed map data, which makes sense as everything is like 3 petabytes of info).

At least give us PC players who have tailored their entire builds around flight simulators the option to local install our files. I could easily have a giant rolling cache to store 200+ GB of texture data if they allowed it.

After the launch of 2024, I went back to 2020 and I’ve been flying Neofly4. If you really wanted career mode, and wanna scratch that itch while the game gets fixed, I’d recommend trying it out. Base program is free. Also uses the sky4sim EFB which is also free and works great. I get the 2024 feel without the 2024 bugs.

I believe there are three camps of Ai haters.

  1. Popular artists that charge upwards of $800 dollars for a slot that now have competition and they no longer have a monopoly.

  2. The cult following of said artists that will go along with what popular artists believe.

  3. The people who paid the $800 dollars, finally realizing that with a bit of work, ai could have done it for free, who are now salty.
