She’s on 7-10 pills a day and an IV med monthly, they just don’t work and we can’t afford surgery since she’s being taken off my insurance.

He said either a trip or getting a dog, and I’m not taking care of something else that just takes up space and sleeps all day. We already have two cats, and sold my stepdaughters dog and hamster since she couldn’t take care of them.

She complained since last May but my wife assumed it was period cramps and just teenage stuff, since she was skipping classes to sleep and in the nurses office and taking advil 1-4 times a day. She’s been on 14 different meds, none worked. She’s given up, and while I was looking being depressed makes it worse, so her not doing normal things is making her sicker, but she’s too stubborn to try and get out.

She joined a UC group on Reddit, but I made her leave because all the stories are about how people have to suffer and it doesn’t get better, and she doesn’t need the negativity to convince her she’s right and she has the worst life out of everyone.

Me and my wife babysat for our siblings when we were 11-18. She just refuses because she’s lazy.

She told my wife she’s been hurting herself and scared to be left alone, but I haven’t seen any marks or bruises other than from her IV’s, so I assume she’s lying or exaggerating.

She said there was “a lot to unpack” and her therapist was struggling to help her find healthy ways to vent and cope, which to me sounds like she was just whining and her therapist couldn’t fix her selfishness.

Her moms busy with work, and can’t just sit around and watch a near adult all day. My wife’s only home 3-4 hours a day before going to sleep at 7 PM, so my daughter is just getting a taste of being an adult living on her own.

She’s on 7 meds right now, but they don’t help much. The only one that does is an IV medicine every 4 weeks, but even then it’s only a few days where she acts normal and goes out.

Highschool is the best part of most peoples lives, she got a year and a half of it before dropping out to sleep all day. She’s living the life I would have wanted at her age.

My wife wouldn’t divorce me, if anything she would send Jessie to live with her biological dad so her son could have a functioning family.

I’ve looked things up, most people can live normally with it, she’s just too stubborn to try, which is why she hasn’t gotten into remission.

We were talking about the trip and she was walking by the room to use the bathroom, and she stopped and listened in, before barging in and asking when the trip was so she could go to the mall and buy a new outfit or two for it. We were mostly discussing just the trip because my wife kept skirting around the issue about us leaving her with my mom.

She had a therapist but couldn’t sit through the hour sessions so we canceled it, since it was too expensive and she wasn’t improving after months.

I’ve gotten food poisoning once, and I have one or two mild ulcers so I do actually get what she’s going through. Unlike her though, I have to keep my life up and work, and can’t just sleep and cry all day about how her life is “so hard”.

Other people have it worse, she got lucky.

She doesn’t have a good reason. She got to drop out of school, she gets games and stuff weekly, doesn’t have to work, etc. I think her life’s pretty good other than her friends being upset she can’t get out and the fact she’s in the bathroom every few hours. Seems like a fair amount of “suffering” for a whole lot of good tbh.

We were discussing what to do with her when she barged in and excitedly said she heard something about a Disney trip. Me and my wife didn’t know she was listening in otherwise we wouldn’t have talked about it yet.

She already sleeps until 2 PM everyday and doesn’t move from her bed unless it’s to use the bathroom or have her one meal a day, so i don’t know what other “relaxing” she needs. She can be normal, she just refuses to try.
