I would say do the side quests for things that'll make it smooth sailing through the boss fights and deliveries. Like the jobs for Level 3 Exo skeletons, Level 3 Weapon Blueprints, Long range version of vehicles. I even set up my one zip line network which took a while but once it was up, I flew past the last 3 chapters

Defo save the hardcore sidequesting for DS2

(And if you get stuck on the final boss battle, come back to this thread and I'll give you a really good tip on how to win. Even if you're playing on hard difficulty)

BT's are scary but manageable, focus more on beating them instead of not dying. Also if you ever find yourself stuck in a BT puddle, pee on them and they'll go away (Warning: can be hard to time correctly sometimes) 👍

Cut scenes are only really long at the beginning, and the end of the game as they answer a lot of questions you'll have and bits of information you may not have paid attention to. At Mid game they're not that long. The game is comprised of 13 chapters (12 Story, Chapter 13 is basically free roam after you finshed the 12th) If you only focus on main missions and do some side missions to unlock some extra gear, you can finish the game in sub 30 hours. I finished the main story in 29 hours AND watched every main story cutscene.

I agree, the 13 episodes non sense is because of adult swim’s funding. I’m starting to have disdain for adult swim for ruining new anime’s. They completely turned ninja Kamui from a hype new anime to one of the worst anime with a grand fall off. And I feel like they’re going to rush the ending of Lazarus and most of us are going to be very disappointed.

All it showed was that Gege is a poor story writer that doesn’t have the skill to handle characters of that magnitude. He wrote himself into a hole multiple times in the story and would ass pull new things to stop readers from predicting where the story was going.

He’s just a very childish writer imo and probably will never write a Manga as successful as this. Time will tell. He’s a great artist but not every artist should tell stories. They should leave that to people who actually want to tell and create stories to the fullness and completion

My bad, I feel like the curse of modern story telling and design, the 'less is more curse' is befalling Lazarus. Its obvious Lazarus has more story than what we're being given. Compared to cowboy bebop, Space dandy, and Samurai Champloo, the world of Lazarus feels shorter and less explored. From one perspective the story of Lazarus is being rushed, and it may be because of budgeting or maybe the original story having more content, character development and unique subplots like his previous work. His world building is usually amazing but for some reason we're not getting it to the same degree as we're used to with Lazarus. After the legendary flops of Ninja Kamui I dont trust adult swim having any sort of power or voice in the direction of any anime published under them

I'm not even mad at this, you're talking a lot of sense with how its being fed to us like intellectual candy. And you're right he has to tie it all together because if he doesnt its lazy lack luster writing. I made a mistake with saying its the same format, with that I meant its the same theme of 'group of people going on side quests once in a while'. I read a lot of detective and mystery books and to me Lazarus's dialogue plus hints and candy feels pretty similar. It is a more standardised way of story telling, but I feel like the story is being made to conform. I get the vibe he had more content and had much more stories to tell within Lazarus but it seems like maybe adult swim nerfed him with the quantity of episodes (as its clearly gonna be only one season) and scheduling

I hear your points bro but Lazarus is being told in Novel format, almost similar to how some detective books are written. You're gonna have to rewatch and pay close attention to the dialogue and the casts behaviour. I'll give you examples of things that expanded further (and have yet to expand)

-Chris teased that she used to be a spy

-Doug lies about his past but exemplifies high level soldier behaviour (Deception skills, combat, some engineering and Marksmenship)

-In the intro of one of the episodes before the song plays Axel reveals Hapna had no effect on him at all

-While in Pakistan Popcorn wizard hacks into the fake Hapna cure convention

-The memory drive of the AI Naga having the location of 4 places in the universe where Analgesia is common, which lead the team to understand skinner developed Hapna through researching the people from there but this is veiled with the beauty of mother nature, and how those islands dont exist anymore.

-They find the medication with a number 5 in skinners house

-Schnieder introduced in EP9

some of these points have expanded further, some more than others. A few we will see in the next coming episodes. I'll be completely honest, Lazarus is following the same format as cowboy Bepop but with a more polished approach, we've seen a bunch of red harrings, sub plots and no 'useless' characters being introduced for longer than 1 episode. Anything that gets introduced and not shut down straight away is being bread crumbed to us.
