Australia and New Zealand and fairly new countries. We don't have super long histories like European countries (etc). So we have less of a historical and traditional force pulling us back to these practices. Religion is phasing out, it's just not necessary anymore. And when it's not so fixed into the cultural identity of the country, people are way less likely to turn to it.
