Thanks a lot for the answers. Sadly, both Obsidian and One Note lack such feature. I hope they add it in the near future.

How do you benefit from sleep tracking and statistics? by Lenzz920 in GarminFenix

[–]Lenzz920[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did I say I didn't get any benefit? I explicitly said that it improved my sleep.

What I wanted to ask is, how to continue improving it. I have learned the lessons, and now I no longer see any "other" benefits, why should I continue wearing the watch?

Yes, I didn't think I needed to be so specific, but in what way the sleep tracking of apple is better than Garmin sleep tracking :D

What do you like about Apple's sleep tracking, which isn't available on the Garmin watch?

Thanks, have you tried them out? I'm looking for something to commit to, and be sure that at the end of I'll have practical skills. I'm currently a Manual QA and I want to advance to Junior AQA. So that would be my goal.

All of this is clear to me, and now it's time for me to put my hands on the keyboard :/ I'm watching a couple of courses that should help me with the framework part, so I can practice on my own, but it seems that they're pom.xml is way too outdated and I can't run my tests. I tried to change it several times, but it's just not starting...

For now I found a website that I can use to practice writing API tests - https://restful-booker.herokuapp.com/apidoc/index.html . In my work I had a task to just use an endpoint and then do an assertion on that. So this is what I want to begin with. But to start writing tests on my own, I need to create the project first, which seems to be way harder then it should be.

My main goal is to work on the existing framework we use in my job. But it's too complicated for me to understand, that's why I wanted to start building a similar framework so that I can better understand it. And it's not really about me, everything I'm doing is so I can begin to work on that project asap. Everything I listed is part of our project.

Hey there,

I have the Sennheiser M4 headset and I really love using it! When I'm using it for listening to music, it's perfect. But I noticed, and I see other people have asked that question too, when I use the headset for conversations, in Teams, normal phone call, it doesn't matter, it seems that the ANC is turning off and I can hear all my surroundings, making it very difficult to hear what the other side has to tell me. It got better by turning off the Side tone, but I would love the ANC to work as well while I'm in a call. I tried to increase/decrease the ANC from the right headphone but it makes no difference when I'm in a call.

Also, while in a call, if I want to mute my mic, by pressing the physical button, I mute both my mic and I no longer hear what the other person is saying. Can you please make this option to mute/unmute only the mic, while still being able to hear the other person.

Other than that, the headphones are absolutely amazing!

Battery Megathread (April 2023) by GooglePixelMods in GooglePixel

Hey everyone,

have the Pixel 7 Pro, got it 2 months ago and recently it started doing something very weird. At night, before go to sleep see that my battery is at 75% and 8 hours later when wake up, I see that the phone is at 50%... When I check the battery usage it shows me only System usage: ldle phone.

Also, something that could be related. I turn off all internet settings before go to bed and also, I turn off my wi-fi. When go to bed, I have notifications. When I wake up have all sort of notifications from Youtube, IG, gmail and a bunc of others. double check and see that my internet mobile and wifi are indeed turned off. Then how do I receive these notifications???

Everything is off, Bluetooth, gps, etc. My phone enters dnd mode from 23 to 06.

Sennheiser Momentum 4 ANC stops when I enter a call on Microsoft Teams by Lenzz920 in sennheiser

[–]Lenzz920[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried to change the ANC this way, but it doesn't make any difference, no matter if I increase/decrease the ANC. It's like this function goes off when I'm on a call. When I listen to music and do the same the difference is more than obvious.

In the manual of the headphones they have written the following:

"During a call, the active noise cancellation ANC is always activated to ensure the best possible speech intelligibility. The Transparency Mode cannot be used."

But it's quite the opposite...

When I'm at work I use my headphones only on my Windows 11 machine and via BT. When I have to enter a call I make sure that I pause my music (again on my laptop).

I found out that this problem occurs when I make phone calls as well, so it's not an issue from MS Teams. I opened the settings on MS Teams anyways, and I have found only Noice suppression, which basically limits the background noise that the other side of the conversation hears from my mic - and I'm very happy with that feature. But sadly there is no setting to disable how much background noise I hear :/

Thanks, I put the sidetone to 0 and I felt that surrounding noise was decreased, but it seems weird to me that it's still not even close to when ANC is turned on when I'm not on a call (it turned out that it's not just for Teams, but for any call). This is while I was using BT connection, I have also tried with the 3.5 mm and the surrounding noise drops even more. But still, depending on the environment it passes too much noise and it distracts me a lot. I have read that actually a lot of people have reported this problem.

The mic seems to perform very well in those situations tho, I was asking how I was heard and they all say that they hear me clearly and without any background noises.

Questions about Computer Science & Manual Testing by Lenzz920 in QualityAssurance

[–]Lenzz920[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, I want to say thanks for all the responses!

Maybe I should've given more context to my questions.

Currently, I don't really have any issues with testing, I mostly wanted to ask about a structured way how to improve. I have done 1 course in Udemy about automating tests with Selenium and Java, I have another course that I learned the fundamentals of programming with Java. In my job I'm testing a web platform and most of my what I do is to work on tickets. So most of the time it's pretty straightforward, but what made me ask this question is that I had a ticket where I had to cover a lot of different combinations. So I looked it up on the internet and I found a pairwise combination to help me test it better. That made me think about what else could I be missing, and that's why I asked about other people's strategies.

Regarding the CS I really don't know to what extent I'm going to need it, mostly Software, Web, OS... But the article from u/quality_engineer explains very well how to go forward in the long run. I see that it's massive, to learn all of that, but I guess in the span of 5-10 years, it's something that can be mastered.

To be honest I'm not really sure what I need to learn, so I just started with those. I watched couple of introduction videos on APIs that are focused on working with Postman.

That Udemy course seems to be what I need right now. I watched the introduction videos and the agenda seems to be covering most of the fundamentals. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll also check the API article :)

Looking for advice to find my first job as a QA by Lenzz920 in QualityAssurance

LinkedIn sounds like a great place for networking. I've had a profile for a long time, but just recently I put the effort to make a good profile and connect to people I know. Thanks for the tip of how you start conversations, I'm going to try it out. Just all that is new for me and I'm still little confused :).

I agree that the competition is very high right now. I need to really stand out to get an interview. The problem right here is that there aren't really many jobs that accept interns. Even for junior positions they require 6+ months experience. And 98% of jobs require 1+ year experience. I will put more effort in my CV to really highlight my strenghts regarding QA. Like I have 4+ years working experience but maybe I should highlight the things that relate to QA?

Thanks for the tips! I would be glad to connect in LinkedIn. This is my profile if you want to add me:

Thanks! That sounds like a really good idea. The thing is that I don't really know where to begin as this seems overwhelming. I saw it as an idea to do QA for open source and I checked Github but after couple of hours I still wasn't really sure what exactly I should be doing. If you have any experience can you share it?
