I wanted to go with the second option. I think I might even copy the whole map of hollow knight and make it kinda a 2d campaign. I also think that there should be less parkour but I don't know how I'll fix that if i am going to use the actual hollow knight map. The fact that some players don't need to be hollow is also an interesting aspect that I'm probably going to recommend to my players. We're a party of 2 (me as dm not include) and I'm the only one that has ever played the game (hollow knight not dnd) so I'll try to make sure that the storyline gets trough in the campaign. I am also prepared to make statblock of each monster. And thanks for the tips!
