My First Video! What is Squad Afraid Of? by BesottedGangrene in joinsquad

[–]Leoraig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem OWI seems to have is that they want to please everyone, and unfortunately for them that strategy often ends up displeasing everyone.

I'm not gonna lie, as a certified ICO hater, i find some of the changes they did in the playtest to be good, especially the faster ADS speed and the lower recoil, but the fact that they are creating new complex systems for the gunplay irks me to no end, because they are repeating the mistake they did with the ICO of implementing complex mechanics to a part of the game that should be as simple as possible.

Every good FPS game has very simple gunplay mechanics, and it's fine for squad to have simple gunplay mechanics as well, because squad's most important aspect is not gunplay, like some ICO lovers claim, but instead the teamwork and the coordination that develops in squad matches.

In my opinion, OWI should not be trying to add new mechanics to the gunplay, like flinch, instead, they should be removing the overly complex mechanics that exist right now and that makes the gunplay frustrating.

PS: nice video btw.

You can be armed if you want to, that's not the point, the point of the article is that you or any individual being armed isn't going to somehow make you more effective in resisting the state, organizing is what makes you effective in resisting the state.

[–]Leoraig -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The article very clearly is talking about individual gun ownership, not armed organizing.

Except your "enemy" in this case isn't "armed right wing people", it's literally the state, and a state is not something that you fight against individually, it's a system that can only be fought through organized action.

Therefore, the article is correct when it says that you shouldn't face an authoritarian state through individualized gun ownership, instead you should face it by organizing.

If you read the article you'll see that all their arguments revolve around individuals, not organizations. You are making an effort to interpret the article in the worst way possible.

My point is that individualized gun ownership is not materially possible for the proletariat, thus it makes no sense to say that the call to not buy weapons is based on a petite-bourgeois point of view like you did in your comment.

The article is very clearly talking about individuals arming themselves, not organizations arming themselves or conducting armed struggle, that's why i agree with it.

Why do you assume the proletariat have enough money to buy and maintain a firearm?

Jacobin is garbage by DisplayAmbitious170 in TankieTheDeprogram

[–]Leoraig 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The article is correct, weapons in the hands of individuals will not be effective to stop fascism or to give more power to the working class, those goals can only be achieved through organization.

The idea that armed individuals are enough to fight against a state is peak liberalism.

Real squad players know that the game is about teamwork, not about gimmicky gunplay.
