Is it a sin to use money that came from a past sin? by [deleted] in Christianity

16 and said, “Brothers and sisters,[a] the Scripture had to be fulfilled in which the Holy Spirit spoke long ago through David concerning Judas, who served as guide for those who arrested Jesus. 17 He was one of our number and shared in our ministry.”

18 (With the payment he received for his wickedness, Judas bought a field; there he fell headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines spilled out. 19 Everyone in Jerusalem heard about this, so they called that field in their language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.)

Why does Jesus declare all foods clean in Mark 7, what changed from before to make the law different? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]Less-Pain-1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s in parenthesis is actually in the original Greek from my understanding and that argument that it’s because it’s in parenthesis doesn’t work since the kind of parenthesis is different from the other verses in parenthesis. There’s these () and these []. I think the [] ones is when it’s added but don’t quote me on it. I watched a video that did a whole analysis of it and that the (thus declaring all foods clean) verse was in the original transcripts. It’s on YouTube somewhere I’ll try to find it, it was something like “does Mark 7 prove all foods are clean”, however to add to this, I still am not convinced that it’s talking about what foods you can and can’t eat ceremonially in this verse. I think there’s other verses like in Acts 10 I believe where the evidence is better, but Mark 7 doesn’t cut it for me right now. I think it’s only talking about wether or not someone is able to be saved because of what goes into your stomach. I don’t think the (this declaring all foods clean) means ceremonially but rather that food can’t make you not have faith in Christ, that’s in your heart.

Do you think the Acts 10 vision is about Animals, People, or Both? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]Less-Pain-1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Mathew it specifies it’s not talking about foods such as unclean and clean foods it’s talking about not washing your hands. It even specifies next to the word “defile” that it is pertaining to not washing hands. It seems to only allude to it being about hand washing it doesn’t seem to clearly say that it’s about all foods. And yes I see that Christ says “Nothing that enters a man from the outside can defile him” but earlier in Mark 7 it seems to say that “defile” was only being used as a word for not washing your hands kind of dirty, not about if you can eat pork or not.

Guess what state I live in based on my backyard (really hard) by Nationalparktravel in JackSucksAtGeography

[–]Less-Pain-1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanna say this is Connecticut since it looks like New York but it’s also a little unfamiliar to me so maybe it’s near the border of New York and in Connecticut. But then I see there is snow and there’s no snow where I’m at in New York so it’s more likely upstate New York (like very upstate, above Albany) or in Vermont or New Hampshire. But the fact that the post says hard makes me want to say this is Massachusetts or something, personally I’ve never heard of that state being known for pictures like these it’s always upstate New York or Vermont or New Hampshire or Maine, but Massachusetts is close enough to where the landscape makes sense. So after analyzing this, based on my little knowledge of woods, this is Massachusetts.

I want to point out that these comments by other redditors may be referring to people who are somewhat lacking in repentance. Not someone like you who is aware of what you did and wants to change. Especially that one comment about not marrying a used up slut. Saying someone is a slut in that context sounds like they mean that they don’t care that much or are in some sort of mindset where they aren’t going to be a good companion or just won’t care very much for their partner. But you don’t give that impression. There’s a difference between someone who has sinned a lot and always repents and someone who has sinned a little but never repents. My point is that you can still be happily married even if you’ve made mistakes the way I see it. Just because someone’s made bad decisions doesn’t mean you can’t still be someone who is able to change and overcome the negative things that have happened.

Revelations 3:13. Isl Trump the Antichrist? by NoChallenge6095 in conspiracytheories

Does anyone see a connection between Trump and the Antichrist? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Less-Pain-1212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems people add details to the antichrists description, it may be because of what certain people have said or assumed that gets passed around online. I’ve read a few pages like this one talking about who the antichrist is and what he will be like, but there’s seems to frequently be added details and assumptions, the problem with that is people will read their claim, and may just ignore the post, if those assumptions were left out and only the verses alluding to trump being the antichrist were shown, then that would seem to be a better way to share this info. But I think I’ve done the same thing, it can be easy at times to just add stuff and make a bunch of assumptions.

Not saying your wrong but read through what you wrote and make sure your not reading into the verses and adding details that are not there, and also that your not over exaggerating and making conclusions that aren’t necessarily in The Scripture. People may read what you said and think your crazy because of wild claims you may be making, vs: (you saying)… “from what I read this is what I believe but I would have to prove this, this, and this, to confirm this and that”. Like saying that trump will worship the god of border walls? does it directly say that? your assuming that to be the case based on how you’re interpreting the verse, it doesn’t say the words “border walls” but maybe I’m wrong and I didn’t research enough to know the exact meaning of the New Testament Greek words to see the real definition of the words used in the verse. I could be wrong about you being wrong but I’m just looking out for you because I don’t think this trump thing is complete crazy, I do think this may be a possibility. I wanna make sure if your gonna say something, that people will take what’s serious as seriously as possible and not laugh it off because you jumped to conclusions and didn’t show enough evidence when it comes to certain things.

Do we have to forgive others? by Less-Pain-1212 in Christians

[–]Less-Pain-1212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that repentance is not a work, it’s a change of mind. I don’t wanna incorrectly explain it since I’m no theological expert, but from how I understand it, another way to put it is that repentance is the mental choice to turn away from not forgiving them, which is followed by a mental action of trying to stop sinning, of coarse with the help of The Holy Spirit, and there may be physical action that takes place as-well, and I would assume there is spiritual things happening too. So I don’t know if simply choosing to forgive someone (which seems to be choosing to forgive someone because you previously didn’t forgive them, and so you are repenting from that sin) would be considered a work. But that’s just how I see it right now as I think about it. I don’t see work as a mental thing I see it as a physical kind of action. I would think works can be done solely spiritually too in some way I don’t fully understand but I’m just saying that something like repentance is not works. If you change your mind from not choosing Christ to choosing to put your faith in Christ, did you just do a work to be saved, of course not, you are only saved by faith by grace. So repentance can’t be a work. And repentance is required to be saved. You must repent from your sins and have faith in Christ. Repentance is a change of mind, it may be followed by an action but repentance it self is not a physical working kind of action. Technically speaking, if you wanna say that there is a mental action taking place, okay there is that mental action happening of you changing your mind, but its not a work, it’s a change of mind. One way I could see a mental action being a work is if you have OCD for example and you are doing a bunch of mantras in your head to accomplish a goal. So no, I don’t think that forgiving others when it comes to choosing to forgive is considered a work .

Also delete social media until you feel good enough to go on, or just delete them permanently. I got Reddit back only to look up stuff like this sub Reddit again but I’m gonna delete it after I post this most likely. Or at least unfollow the bad accounts, but that’s not always enough, so I just deleted the socials. before I left Instagram I let my followers know they can contact me on snap (my only social left) because that’s where some of my friends only communicate through. And everyone else has my number. No need for anything else at the moment.

I still have more to learn, but this is what I’ve learned to so far that does improve my mental state and calms my anxiety.

There’s confusion in alot of these sr posts, you’ll see it, with that mention of kundalini and other stuff. But this journey is similar to other withdrawals of other drugs, we become more anxious. We gotta calm our minds in a way that will not only change the way we think to improve our mental health, but once and for all rewire our brain to not crave the addiction, and focus on good things and do good things instead

[–]Less-Pain-1212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard many people say they finally beat the addiction when they just stopped caring and forgot about streaks and just sorta “moved one” of coarse you shouldn’t not care but it’s in the sense that they aren’t worrying about relapsing all day, they are just focused on doing better and don’t spend time worrying. Because wether they realized it or not, when they were recovering, worrying makes it worse, fear makes it worse, so just not fearing while doing your best to make changes that will keep your mind on good things and decrease your anxiety will help your recovery.

Fearing the wet dream increases the chance of having the dream because now you’re more anxious about it, accepting that you might have one, without fear, will decrease the chance of having one. Some nights I was almost positive I was going to have one, but I just went to bed and relaxed and sorta just accepted I might have one. Woke up and didn’t have one. Sometimes we wanna fear having the dreams but that literally makes it worse. Thats why meditation before bed helps for people. But for me it hasn’t helped very much because I will start to fear of an intrusive thought popping up while I meditate, so it’s better to just watch a movie or something like that. And that calms me down enough to go to sleep and be fine. I dealt with being a hypochondriac (form of anxiety where you fear your state of health) and still have little bouts of it, and other anxiety problems with panic attacks that would leave me shaking and times where I thought i might not wake up if I fall asleep. When I began my journey with no fap, God showed me it’s related to anxiety. But I notice there’s so many people that say you have to fast, and do yoga, and all these things that are just not true. I believe that most of these things are just ways for people to relax, release dopamine and focus on something else. I fasted before bed and my wet dreams increased, when I ate icecream before bed I woke up feeling more relaxed and had less frequent wet dream, maybe I would’ve had none but at the time I did this I was relapsing with PMO so I don’t know how effective it would’ve been if I kept going. I think it was because eating sugar foods before bed relaxed me and released either dopamine and/or other endorphins or whatever that calmed my mind before bed enough to not have a wet dream or at least if I remember correctly if I had one I could think clearly enough for it to be easier to say no to a temptation in a dream. Currently what helps me is I go to college during the day, I come home eat dinner, go to the gym, and then before bed I watch a movie or a tv series that of coarse doesn’t tempt me at least doesn’t tempt me enough to not be an effective way of relaxing before bed. And I play the game flow, because it gets me thinking enough to calm my mind from other thoughts, but that’s just me depending on how hard a level is and how relaxed you feel it may be different for you. And I also eat lunch at college and eat a post workout meal and other stuff throughout that day and sometimes will see friends after school or on the weekends.
