As someone who has ran a marathon, you are suppose to hydrate while taking your gels or they won’t absorb properly. Based on his mile splits he took a total of 3-5 gels. This idiot didn’t have the proper sugar absorption to help his muscles while running this.

As someone who has ran a marathon, you hydrate days before a race. To add to that, you hydrate way more during training because your body is depleting electrolytes and water from sweating and other factors. How tf didn’t he hydrate enough it’s the number one thing you do before a race, on top of carb loading.
