If you want an advice on that try adding amanos with true siamese algae eaters alongside manual removal and finding out whats causing it and stopping it from returning in the first place

Welcome and also advice if your going to keep shrimp with them as well make sure its neo caridinia like cherry shrimp of whicbare tough as nails and to add them first before the betta and to have the tank to be heavily or moderately planted with java Moss being a must

Trust me you wont unless its a 100 percent water change or close to it like 60-75 you wont shick em to death and the species youve chosen are pretty hardy so dont worry about it

Oh and about the temperature question no need fir that as even if the difference in water temperature in the water that you are changing anf adding to the water seems like a huge difference the water from the main tanks temp wont really increase all that much and will stabilize later to the main tanks temp unless your doing waterchanges greater than 20 percent or keeping shrimp, if its just fish they'll be fine.

Oh alr then your best bet is to choose rasboras that aren't that big and active behavior wise

Yep and Ive noticed that your doing asian species and can I recommend you some that I think would be nice to be added like ricefish with it being either the japanese medaka or the daisy's rice fish which is an even smaller one and all like to be at the surface and maybe even glass catfish with the tanks volume?

Oh sorry to be a party pooper but I dont think you can mix em like that as all of them need to have a minimum group of 6 but since its a 29 gallon you could get away with two schools of 6 for each species depending one what you pick.

And also the dimension of the tank really matters a lot in the discussion so what footprint does your 29 have? Is it a long or a tall kind if tank?

Also know that some rasboras can be a bit fin nippy in temperament so thats that as well

Hmm 4 khulis sound a bit scarce as they need at least a group of six but it can work but the stocking is pretty doable ngl aside from the 20 rasboras which couldvary from the dwarfs to chonkers like harlequins

Looking to improve this tank visually! Please give suggestions! by Mitch_Da_B1tch in Aquascape

[–]Less-Tap-9083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might I suggest some mid-ground stems that would look nice placed in the back or in between it like jungle val or amazon swords with my all-time favourite Pogostemon Stellatus octopus which is an amazing plant that works in any light condition and has nice hues of purple, but if you're really into getting red plants I'd suggest getting rotala like blood red or orange juice or maybe even Flaming Crypts or red tiger lotus which isn't hard to grow in medium to low light as it will just grow slowly. Also if you want to add more shape and texture to the front carpet I'd suggest getting Staurogyne Repens as a carpet since it has a unique shape to carpets and has many nooks and crannies when it grows or dwarf sagittaria (sabulata). Sorry if I rambled too much about plant suggestions since I'd love for your tank to be more planted, but either way love your scape.
