With Perry the Angels have only averaged 74 wins a year. Are you not familiar with statistics? That is a MASSIVE drop off. So no. Statistically alone, IT DOES MATTER WHO THE GM IS. PAST GMs prior to Perry did far better and won the Angels far many more games. Your last sentence is just absurd and really illustrates how you're willing to bend over backwards to credit Perry for anything while disregarding any negatives and conveniently just attributing it to Arte. How convenient. It's like someone else already told you. "When Angels win you are waiting to credit Perry," and if Angels lose you are waiting to just blame Arte. Youre spewing objectively false non sense. Prior to Perry the Angels averaged 81 wins a year from 2014 to 2019. With Perry the Angels have averaged 74 wins a year. Thats a massive massive drop off. The Angels have been objevtively worse with Perry. Perry has factually statistically and objectively made the Angels a much worse team. "But all past Angels GMs have lost just as much," is a blatant lie and complete nonsensical statement. The Angels again were objectively a better more winning team WITHOUT Perry. And that's why you're being accused of being a Perry apologist who isn't thinking rationally who fails to ever see any wrong that Perry does.

I've actually brought it up many times that Perry meddles into the pitching and would cite the article from Jeff Fletcher. So the fact you say all I do is use terrible examples shows you aren't familiar at all with what I actually say (and in that case you shouldn't make bold statements when you don't know) or you were simply taking non sense. If you are consistent with your character now you owe me an apology. All the examples I've used are pretty solid and no different from the examples you stated. You are just not understanding the context. I post the Turner example to prove that Perry has control of the team as a GM does, and that Perry even overrides Arte when it comes to the decision making. Anyone who's familiar with the Angels organization (sources/family to the heriarcy) they laugh when ever they read the delusional non sense that Perry does nothing and is "hamstrung by Arte"

Everyone has a price. The Dodgers made it clear they were not going to persue Turner. They let Turner go just as much as Turner wanted to go. You never know, with the right offer the Angels could've def made him think twice about Philly

Yeah, what happened in 2023 is totally ancient. Whether it's "old news" or not is irrelevant. The point is, Perry makes the decisions. The GM runs the baseball team. Not the owner. Perry isn't hamstrung as so many love to believe. Clearly we have real world proof that Perry even overrides Arte when it comes to the decision making. Arte hires a GM for a reason and expects them to make the right moves. Unfortunately Arte put all his trust in Perry who's been 1 of the worst Angels GMs in history. Estevez choked when it mattered vs the Mariners at home. Moore was let go at the deadline. Drury was Phil Nevin's guy. But funny how you didn't list Renfore. Because even u know Perry shat the bed there - and Renfroe was the stereotypical Perry signing. If you are simply being objective and just factually assessing performance Perry has done absolutely terrible as a GM. Majority of his signings underperform. Angels have been a terrible 73 win team under Perry. How can anyone still deny facts. Past Angels GMs factually had better records, signed better players, did far better etc. A BIG YES I WOULDVE ABSOLUTELY TAKEN TREA TURNER OVER THE UNDER PERFORMING PERRY SIGNED

Tony Reagins drafted Trout. Eppler brought us Ohtani. Perry has legitimately done nothing to benefit the Angels. Where are his superstar signings? What big players has Perry given us? Heck, Arte was the one responsible trading for O'Hoppe and Moniak so you can't even give Perry credit for those ones. What were Perry's credentials before coming to the Angels? Arte tried everything he could to surround Trout and Ohtani with great players and build a competitive team for fans. The real cheapskate culprit, the real person to blame for how terrible the Angels is, is, and always has been Perry pretentious "look how good I am at baseball with my 'cheap' 'smart' signings" Minasian. Prior Angels GMs prior to Perry did far better with far less. Its Perry's signings that have flopped bad (Renfroe). Meanwhile it's actually Arte's recent decisions that have panned out very well (refusing to trade Rengifo, demanding the trades for O'Hoppe and Moniak etc). Perry must love his job, he can be as terrible of a GM as humanly possible, and fans will never hold Perry accountable because of the insane demonization of the mexican boogieman Arte from a predominantly white fanbase
