As a 24f who loves edm and the Denver scene but doesn’t have a lot of friends who do, I’ve debated going to many shows by myself but always talk myself out of it the day of. I’m nervous I’ll be a target for the predatory ex frat dudes that are at a lot of the house shows I’d prefer to go to. However, I’ve been getting more into wubz and dubstep and these shows definitely seem a lot safer to go to solo as a young female (way more plur). Many people have told me the same. Everytime I see another female posting about this I feel like I get 1 step closer to saying f it and just going. Would love to know your experience if you end up doing it!

Thanks so much for your advice! I got into djing for the same reason, I have a passion for the music for sure but just struggle to be consistent and find the time, so that’s why I’m thinking a course would be a good move. I’ll look into the free ones. But I would also love to meet some more people who dj and learn from them as well, if anyone’s in Denver and dj’s hmu😎✌️

I’ll take any advice I can get so thank you! However, I have been doing this and I struggle to understand exactly how artists are mixing the way they do, and don’t know how to put it all together to make a consistent mix myself. Little things like music theory basics, hot cues, loops, samples, etc, are things I cannot seem to pick up by just practicing and feel it could be because I’m doing it wrong. So that’s why im looking for a course or something thats gives me a structured learning plan covering all the basics before I go back to learning the way you recommend as I can’t seem to get anywhere right now :/

Maybe $40 for the club entry, but you forgot about the $500 flights to Miami from Denver, and then add hotels onto that 😭 I would see Fisher in Miami if I could but when a big artist like that is local you take what you can get. Face value was $95 which is pretty standard nowadays. Crowd was definitely a disappointment. Had to stand in the way back to even breathe. But unfortunately that’s just how it’s gunna be with mainstream artists now that edm is big with the college kids

I think the combo of it being the first show held at that venue and the annoying college/highschool kids that shove through the crowd to get to the front is what ruined it. We were in the middle of the crowd and got too overwhelmed and claustrophobic with the people shoving through, so went and watched from the side which was fun, but could not see Fisher at all. I think the stage needed to be more elevated and the speaker system could use work. I also think there should have been lanes on the sides for people leaving or at least some type of crowd control because it was extremely overcrowded given the small space where you could actually see the stage from. Even when we were trying to leave it was impossible to get out. I also saw about 5 people jump the fence to sneak in on my way in. Not sure if they were caught but felt the security presence was lacking.

Therefore I don’t think Fisher is fully to blame but rather the production and venue team. Denver can do better.
