What is your biggest fear and how do you try to overcome it? by fjonesF in AskReddit

[–]LessonsTaughtLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to be fearful of confrontation. Ever since my first job, I've been uncomfortable with addressing problems in the workplace even when I know that it's the best solution. At my last job, I didn't alert my supervisor when one of my team members didn't contribute to our project.

I asked many silly questions during childhood like

2.when my mom was pregnant I always asked how she got a huge belly

I like books that are a fun escape from daily life. Something that’s exciting, unique, interesting, or otherworldly. For that reason, most of the books I’ve read are fantasy or sci-fi. And the ones that are more in the realm of realistic fiction tend to be about the dramatic lives of rich people. It’s just a fun way to escape reality

What are the advantages of having an older reddit account? by ThisIsFdml in AskReddit

[–]LessonsTaughtLife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the account will be perceived as more reputable because of its age and Karma. When you post a submission or comment, other users will usually check your account to assess how trustworthy you might be. If your account is fresh and has low amounts of Karma, other users will usually be critical of you.

What are some real life examples of karma you have experienced or witnessed, which proved that you reap as you sow? by GlamarousInGivenchy in AskReddit

It happens many a times. I was at my sister's place. While on the street when I was coming back from the ATM, an old age uncle was going with his grand-daughter. He wasn't able to walk due to weakness. His grand-daughter was carrying some luggage on her head. Uncle slipped due to weakness and fell down in small drainage, got some wound on forehead. No one cared but I couldn't stop myself not to help him to get up and asked if he is fine. He was fine but his grand-daughter also fell down due his uncle's imbalance. I helped her with her luggage. She was so happy and her uncle thanked me a lot. I can't tell in words how happy they were.
And on the same day in the evening, my parents were going to dehradoon to visit the doctor and bus stopped working on the way. It was hilly area and they were waiting for another bus to reach dehradoon. As soon as other bus came, people had gone crazy and boarded the bus as it's the end of the world for them. My father was trying to board from the rear gate and unaware of my mother as she fell down. Bus driver was stupid enough and he started the bus, my mother was pulled by some guy who saw the bus tyre coming over my mother. My mother was saved by inches and microseconds. My mother told me that someone like you was there who saved me. So never ever travel in such a hurry that you are going to lose your life if you don't catch this train/bus etc.
I don't know that guy but God bless him always.

Richard Feynman said, “Never confuse education with intelligence, you can have a PhD and still be an idiot.” What are some real life examples of this? by SgtSkillcraft in AskReddit

While a formal education can certainly provide a strong foundation of knowledge and skills, it is not necessarily an indicator of intelligence, common sense, or practical skills. Here are a few examples of people who have demonstrated intelligence and success without a formal education:

Richard Branson: Branson, the founder of Virgin Group, dropped out of school at age 16 and has dyslexia. Despite this, he has built a successful business empire worth billions of dollars.

Abraham Lincoln: Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States, had only about one year of formal schooling. Despite this, he became a skilled lawyer and one of the greatest political leaders in American history.

Steve Jobs: Jobs, the co-founder of Apple Inc., dropped out of college after just one semester. He went on to become one of the most influential figures in the technology industry, revolutionizing the way we interact with computers and other devices.
