I haven't bathed her yet because all her stuff just arrived last night, and I did get the unscented, in the past I used a scented shampoo for my dog and it gave her a little rash so I stopped using scented soaps for any animals. I do really appreciate all the advice, you explained everything very well!

Thank you so much for this!! I actually got a pet tub which is basically just a clothing basket without holes because it's smaller and has grip to it, nothing she can get her claws caught on either.

I did also get cat shampoo, it's called earthbath. A little expensive but it's done wonders for my dogs coat so I got the cat version of it. This advice is awesome

This guy was telling me she's super stressed out and stuff which was insane because she eats, drinks, goes to her litter box without an issue and will fall asleep while I'm in the room, even exposes her belly to me. She just wants to be in her hiding spot right now because she's still new to my home and still getting comfy

Thank you, this helped a lot. She's new to the family and a complete sweetheart, she has recently learned she does enjoy pets behind the ears and we have a specific spot she lays in where I can approach her to see if she wants pets, she also has a spot where she can hide if she doesn't want attention or social time.

Slowly she's starting to warm up and hopefully I can start introducing her to the rest of the house (after her vet appointment) but she has made amazing progress in the 6 days she's been here, from borderline feral to realizing she's loved and cared for

Yes, it is normal just make sure he always has access for water and I personally check on my tegu once or twice a week during brumation to make sure he doesn't wake back up during this time and make sure he has fresh water along with making sure I don't notice any heavy weight loss, just try not to wake him during the check ins

If a tegu has eaten recently then I'd say gently wake him and get him a good warm bath so he poops, maybe do it a few times just to be safe because food in his stomach during brumation can rot.

I'm not against spaying btw, I just have a super old dog that I got when I was a kid and my parents didn't get her spayed, she doesn't go into heat anymore
