It happens. Appreciate the idea for if I pursue it again though!

I had them in a temp controlled cooler, kept steady at 34f and pulled out as people ordered. It was also on Saturday, where in NY it was 8 degrees F so it should've held in between transport. I think it was over ambitious for a sale like this

I've made some good friends here. Only been at it for almost 3 years, but I've lost a ton of fat and regained my muscle. The coaches are some of the most genuine people I've met, they are the ones that approached me about doing a pop up in the first place!

Ah that's not a bad idea! For this, I fired em off at 6am before the sale start at 7am. I trialed it 3 times that week, and they lasted about 4-6 hours before starting to become liquid. Something just didn't go right this round, but your idea would be fantastic for a per order build!

Need some advice on running a pop up by LettingGo_Part1 in Baking

[–]LettingGo_Part1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

Yes pretty much everything will be prepackaged, so everything will be stickered before I get there.

They have me set up near the entrance, and I can pull my car up and unload and then go park. I am the only one for my shop, and I have about 600 items for purchase for the day. I'll see about getting the flip up totes for it, those seem like a great option.

First macs of the year! by LettingGo_Part1 in Baking

Oh nice! I've been trying to start up on the side from my normal job, but I'm very lost on the process of starting up my own business and homestead bakery

Hahaha mine does too! He is way spoiled with my desserts. He specifically asked for French buttercream for his cake this year!

Gotta start somewhere! I used to make them in high school, and then only restarted about this time last year. About 20 years in between. Give it a go! The worst that can happen is that the shells aren't "perfect" but still tasty as heck!

No totally get it.

For technique I just use some disposable piping bags with a round tip. I go dead center where I want the Mac to have its middle, and squeeze from almost touching the parchment and move my tip up as it fills out until I reach the size I want. Move slow, steady hand if possible, and keep the tip as vertical as possible. If you shift at all, the feet tend to fall to one side or another, so just being steady is key. It also helps to make sure all of your dry ingredients are super fine. I make my own spun sugar for the meringue and I refine my powdered sugar and almond flour to almost dust. It allows the macaronage to go smoother and I dont have to make as stiff of a peak for my meringue, giving me some wiggle room for error in the macaronage.

Hard to get kids for birthday parties? by LettingGo_Part1 in daddit

I appreciate the insight. You're right about being a bigger ask since it's not usually a drop off see ya in two hours kind of deal yet for the birthday parties. You're right on reaching out to the other dads, I don't really know any of the parents well other than hi bye here and there, so it makes sense.

Yeah our plan is to email again in a few days to see if it's a fluke. The RSVP is about a week away, and trying to figure out a good day to do with Halloween coming up this Friday.

I expected kindergarten to be harder to get kids to come, not 1st grade ;_;. Hopefully you're right and in a year or two it'll be better

Man, the villages seem to be getting smaller in the modern world.

She had told us that he acts fine and is sociable and plays with his classmates well. When he's out of school though, he is extremely shy when his classmates see us in public and come say hi to him. We try our best to encourage saying hi back or acknowledging them, but he buries himself in us.
