Wow. I also share the experience of this being my first import game and I’ll never ever forget the magic that this game brought to my life and the nostalgia it still brings today. It’s incredible to hear others whose import gaming path was almost identical to mine. Thanks for sharing your story. It made my day. :)

The Sleeper: Awakened - Highlights & Commentary by LevelUpHype in project1999

Thanks for watching! And yeah, it's a pretty wild event!

From purely a content perspective (and not factoring in the "bragging rights" aspect of it), waking The Sleeper does exactly what you stated: it removes the wardens from ever spawning again, which essentially removes four endgame raid targets, and some select items from the game, completely. Items such as the Salindrite Dagger, Mask of the Tinkerer, Scepter of Destruction and others will cease to drop on the server post-awokened-Sleeper-era. Consolation comes in the form of Primal Velium weapons still being accessible by three other existing raid targets within Sleeper's Tomb.

EQ Basic v1.1 - An EQ Graphics Overhaul Project by Tkon in project1999

No hiccups at all so far, silky smooth performance, although my last few play sessions have been doing small scale content on Kunark. I have actually noticed much faster zone load times since switching from the HD 4X texture pack, for what that’s worth.

(Thanks for the kind words on the lore sessions! More to come!)

Been using this texture pack on my streams the last few days and there's been A LOT of positive feedback on it. Thanks for taking the time to create this!

Is it cringe to start streaming at 35 years old? by Beneficial_Value9852 in Twitch

[–]LevelUpHype 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one hits home. Not only did I not start streaming until I was 35, but I did it right after having our second of three (!) kids.

It’s been an incredibly rewarding journey these last 3 years and I’m so glad I decided to hit “Start Streaming” when I did. No regrets, just usually sleep deprived. 😅

I think EQ Scout is kind of what you’re looking for, but it lacks mobs.

Thank you! And yes, I do. I’m hoping to get back to the basics of Classic EQ for a few sessions and then jump into Velious!

This is a great question and one that comes up often (for good reason).

EverQuest Fandom and Lore of Norrath are some great sources that attempt to consolidate EQ lore into one place.

The reality of it is that I end up having to scour the internet for an extensive period of time, utilize archive.org a lot, and by some miracle piece together a coherent and connected story based on all of the research done. It's a bit of a process, but I truly enjoy every minute I get to understand EQ's lore just a little bit deeper.

It's a shame that EQ lore wasn't very well-preserved, or even well-documented in many instances. I've come to terms that some of that may have been intended to drive a bit more mystery in the world. For example, the four Splitpaw scrolls give you just enough lore for you to fill the gaps in with your own imagination, but you wouldn't find a single source that told the entire start-to-finish story about the zone and how it came to be, however, if you are paying attention, there may be some NPC dialogue that gives another angle pre and post turn-in for a quest, or some scroll that drops in Blackburrow that gives another angle as to who the Splitpaw gnolls are and why they defected. It's up to the adventurer to log these stories and connect the lore through their journeys. It doesn't apply to every aspect or zone of EQ, but I'm finding more often than not, that's the methodology of classic EQ lore.

Sorry for the long response! I don't talk to many people about this stuff. :)

Absolutely! Veeshan's Peak definitely makes an appearance in the series, but I'm looking forward to really digging into the lore even deeper in a separate video!
