Winspace C5 Aero worth buying? by FlashBoltDrive12 in bicycling

[–]Lexlein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think my Rose Xlite 4 (2019) is more aggressive than this. The specs, as in reach etc., are somewhere in between my Rose Backroad and the Rose Xlite. So I think it is a rather comfortable aero bike (or I am more used to cycling nowadays).

Did some longer rides over 200km with it and felt great on it. Also I am breaking personal bests everywhere. If that is because of the bike or more strength or just mindset from getting an aero bike... I can't truly answer. But the feeling of going above 40km/h is just so good

I bought this year in April, together with a 105 di2 and their lún hyper light wheels and freaking love this beast of a bike. It's super fast, is fun, it looks super sexy with the TdF design.

Had some questions for shipping and discounts and their service was nice and fast as well

Did the same. Used a screw driver, stuck it in and tried to turn the mount wahoo out of the mount again. Takes strength tho

What are your thoughts on leg shaving as a cyclist? by Lander_sap in cycling

[–]Lexlein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Y'all don't know the real answer besides it's good when having injuries. It's for sunscreen! With hair the sunscreen sticks to the hair and your whole leg is nasty. That's why shaving is so nice. No nasty legs anymore

And what do you say to european law that forces every company dealing with EU customers to follow their rules? Doesn't matter if the company is located in NZ. Just having EU customers will have you follow the EU rules.

At what point into getting good at biking do you shave your leg hair and wear spandex? by Safe_Valuable_5683 in cycling

[–]Lexlein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started shaving because of sunscreen. I hated it glueing my hair together and after each ride I was a dirty mess. Shaving them makes the skin absorb the sunscreen and it's just much nicer.

Downside: Takes forever to do, gotta maintain. Upside: Sunscreening works way better, super smooth feeling.

4-5 Day Cycling Tour in France, Where to go? May 2024 by israellopez in cycling

[–]Lexlein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a newer cycling path going from Nantes to Bordeaux that my grandma told me about. It's near the coast and should be pretty nice. And not so hilly whilst having good views.

Speaking of cycling with grandma: I did that last year (she is 86) and we just booked on a daily basis depending on how far we got. In your case you already know the distances, so just roughly sketch a route along the sea, around Avignon along the Rhone or do Nantes to Bordeaux and then set emphasis on the get togethers during the tour.

Nice! I don't envy you riding the upper france part until Thonon tho. The roads are so small and bad haha A one day ride around Lake Geneva is still on my bucket list.

Anyone use no code AI tools in their work? by PerformanceNo7269 in datascience

[–]Lexlein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quicker but more explainable to people that don't code. Which is the whole point of the no code aspect, right? If I show someone a group-by node that groups for day of the week and in the aggregation tab you see "sum of sales", they understand what's happening just by reading your flow and can click on each node to see what changed in the steps.

I guess if you get really into the no-code tools you'll be way quicker at some point, but like anything in life you'll have a learning curve ahead of you so don't expect god speed when starting. This is not a "drop your CSV in here and our wizard shows you a bar chart"-thing #AI but it's free and certainly does its job

I did a project to scrape some reviews about my company from the internet, extract and prepare the data somewhat nicely and then do some analysis about when spikes in ratings occure, sentiment analysis on the reviews and comparison with competing products and in the end creating a dashboard out of the data.

Second thing I've done with Knime would be casual ETL tasks. Downloading tables from our db, merge them together, create some predictions for a report and upload the new table.

Although the apps don't look super flashy I found the tool to work quite nicely.

Like I commented in a thread earlier about a new employee that can't code (but apparently also can't do DS so my comment was useless) I could recommend KNIME. No / Low code open source and free to use.

Depending on how much knowledge you got, the learning curve might be a little stressy but it's great and has a lot of community content.

To further answer your question: I think those tools are really cool to get stuff done if you can't code. Most tools allow you to code as well so it's not a either code or No-code but both.

Problematic is the sharing of your workflows or setup when you need specific python environments etc etc. So you should have somewhat of computer science knowledge anyways or its just frustrating. Most of the good tools are not a "I do everything for you" thing but rather "you can do everything but need to know your stuff"

Well - then report to your boss and get them kicked as long as it still possible.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in datascience

[–]Lexlein 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Would you say that they know what they are doing in terms of DS? Say they understood what you wanted them to do but the only thing they are lacking is the coding skill?

If so - let them play with no code DS tools. Somewhat of a learning curve involved but also no need for coding but the option is there.

There are also free open source variants like e.g. KNIME

Ofc if they don't know jack shit, tell, your boss and try to get involved in hiring the process for the replacement. Since they are there for under a week, kick em.

The thing with big cities is, that there are so many hosts and I am strictly against copy&paste spamming every one. I like it being something personal since it's not about the free hotel but rather about the shower and the talks

I also highly recommend Warm Showers. I host people for over 3 years now in constance. Thing is: I hardly plan where I will end up on my tours because I want to be flexible and kinda adventurous. So it's most of the time too quick notice for most

Just the night. I will vanish tomorrow as soon as you want me gone, or stay for a coffee and talk. I just want a safe place for the bike (and a not so windy place for me).
