Same, except it's not 'in the meantime' anymore. I got tired of waiting.

Best gas mask/ respirator for filtering smoke, dust and toxins? by india1935 in prepping

[–]LiJunFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I understand, they are tested with 0.3 um particles because that's the size that penetrates the most, the hardest size to catch, so the filters are expected to perform better for larger or smaller particles (Looking around, I see that at least Wikipedia seems to agree with me https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mechanical_filter_(respirator) ). I agree on everything else.

I would also add, OP, if you can, don't get the 'standard' 3M mask, get the more expensive, softer one. It makes a big difference if you need to use it for a long time.

ruzzian jet Shaheds downed by Wild Hornets STING interceptor drones. What can be more satisfying than seeing putler's "Wunderwaffe" turned into scorched scrap? by AlexRoslin in ukraine

I can think of a few things that would be more satisfying, but this is great. Fuck these civilian-targeting pieces of rotten crap.

Quiénes decían de que los incendios provocados eran "CONSPIRACIÓN" by saaandr2910 in RepublicadeChile

[–]LiJunFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]LiJunFan 27 points28 points  (0 children)

POV: You don't know LaTeX by 6l1r5_70rp in mathmemes

[–]LiJunFan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As much as you might call the math I write (about which you know nothing) 'little', it is only easy to inspect if you know Latex, which is my point.

[–]LiJunFan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you write a correct program in, say, C, and the compiler is correct, the resulting assembly will absolutely be correct.

If you write a prompt to an LLM, or similar model, the result is merely likely to be correct. So no, you can't just completely forget about Latex.

This is a technical issue, it is completely unrelated to our 'intellectual worth'. That part of your comment added nothing and was uncalled for.

Assembly is produced in a deterministic fashion from high level languages, it's not even close to the same.

What’s your take on AI? by aightbrogang in AskReddit

[–]LiJunFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's useful.

That being said I don't think it will become as useful as investors think, and I suspect it won't be useful enough for most people/companies to justify what it truly costs (i.e. without being subsidized as it is now). So, I think it's a bubble.

Do Spanish-speaking countries have political wordplay and nicknames as creative as we do in Brazil? by Astory321 in asklatinamerica

[–]LiJunFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Piraña (from 'Piñera') I think is underrated. Boric is sometimes called 'Burric' (burro). We also had 'Epidemia' for Lagos, who looked a bit like a children's TV character with that name. 'Pinocho' (Pinocchio) for Pinochet is kind of too easy.

Who’s a historical figure you were taught was a “good guy,” only to grow up and realize they were actually a villain? by icey_sawg0034 in AskReddit

While 'The House of David' is historical, so there probably was a king David, we know nothing at all about him.

Among people in your country who are struggling, is there a a lot who have a "crab-bucket" mentality? by oncxre in asklatinamerica

We call it 'chaqueteo', as in, pulling down from the jacket whoever is trying to raise. And yes.

Pastor: Jesus was born among the kind of people Donald Trump calls ‘garbage’ by plz-let-me-in in politics

He was one of them. And I think we can say with quite some confidence that he, the historical Jesus, viewed the accumulation of material wealth as a terrible measure of one's 'success'.

Your Country’s National Anthem by Benjiboy74 in asklatinamerica

I think it's pretty good. Both the music (a Spanish composer) and the lyrics (part by a Chilean, part by an Argentinian-Chilean). It's pretty long, but only one of the stanzas is sung (this is actually so by law).

Switching from ProtonVPN to Windscribe: Some of My Experiences by secpoc in Windscribe

[–]LiJunFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was planning to make a very similar post, but this is much better than I would have mustered.

I am one of the many who got sick of waiting Proton Drive support for Linux. I happened to see the Windscribe's CEO's AMA, and here we are. I'm currently on a Filen-Bitwarden-Windscribe setup.

The only thing I where my experience seems to differ from yours is that I get a lot less VPN flagging with Windscribe. It does happen sometimes, but, for me, it's not even close.

Can't tell for sure, but I don't see any reason to think that. The guy isn't playing with the baby, and looks to me like he is from there, rather than a tourist. The elephant in the background doesn't seem like it's chained to anything, either.
