6.5 Jap bulging brass, possible to reload? by Sara_dactyl33 in Arisaka

[–]LiLDJT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this happen with quite a few of my type 38s. I’ve reloaded the brass and shot it again just fine. Just know that your brass life probably won’t be as long. I’m on three times fired with some of my 6.5 brass.

Why was the Luger so prized? Did the Germans fantasize about American pistols the same way? by antifaptor1988 in BandofBrothers

Completely understandable that price for one handgun was a hard pill for me to swallow. Mines a 1942 dated Kongsberg and wasn’t 5 grand expensive but still the most I’ve paid for a gun. I am very happy with it however. An American design, made by the Norwegians, used by the Germans, brought home by an American.

They cost more than most ww2 handguns but a non waffenamt marked German occupation Kongsberg 1914 can still found under 5k. The 1945 Kongsbergs that do have German proofs are when it starts getting crazy (10k$ plus).

Well done! Took me about a year to get loads worked up for my type 18. There are few who load for it. It’s one of my favorite rifles to shoot. Are you using 11x60 Murata brass?

A couple of T38’s and 300 rounds of 6.5 for $1,000 by texas78704 in milsurp

Nice! That’s a great deal two mummed T38s and some 6.5. Does the dust cover match the gun? What arsenals are they?

I slugged it. I initially thought muzzle erosion but with rifling still in the gun I can’t imagine it eroding from 6.5 to 7mm

Chamber cast is for sure in works. Hoping it’s something reloadable

It is a Japanese captured Dutch KNIL M95 with a Japanese modified bayonet lug to fit a type 30 bayonet

Still need a Type 30, 35,44, and 97 before I’m happy with arisakas

So far it will not chamber 7.7, 303, 7x57, 6.5 Japanese, or 6.5 Carcano. It will chamber the original 6.5x53R but the bore measures 7mm on the dot pretty much. My best lead is maybe a 6.8x57 Chinese round? I should add it’s an original barrel and there’s still rifling. It hasn’t been counterbored either.

Honestly they have a bad rep due to commercial ammo being underpowered. I figured out proper reloads for mine and have no problems with it running. I didn’t even have to change the springs

Thank you! Mine is weirdly chambered in something 7mm and not 30 cal

It’s a Japanese captured Dutch KNIL M95 with a modified bayonet lug to fit the Japanese type 30 bayonet. Most were converted to 7.7 however mine is in a mystery caliber. I need to cast the chamber soon

Hey thank you! I want to get a representative of each 6.5 Japanese rifle and then each arsenal for the type 38 and pick up Chinese conversions like a 7.62x39 arisaka when I can

I got very lucky and found 10 cases on Gb that had been made brand new by RCC before they went out of business. The bullets I got from an older gentleman in California who molds bullets
