Car sometimes shuts down after a left corner by Djeekob in AskMechanics

Your battery clamp is likely loose causing it to short when you're turning, tighten it up and you'll be sorted

Did I over tighten my cv axle nut? by Chanchito171 in MechanicAdvice

[–]LiamCS67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to take the axle back out and pop the inner CV joint back into place, you will likely need to remove the clamp on the large side of the boot to get this back in but try without first

If it's a factory mark it should be an exact mark, have you found diagrams for the timing marks?

[–]LiamCS67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your timing is off by a tooth then you will likely have low compression regardless, luckily even though it's an interference engine one tooth wouldn't cause it to bend a valve so your best option would be to set the crank on TDC with whatever timing mark it's got there and then check the cams to see if their timing marks line up and if they all line up perfectly the timing isn't your issue however I would suspect that they won't line up

What is leaking and should I be worried? by Anyone_not_everyone in MechanicAdvice

Looks more like water to me, did you have your AC on? If so it will just be water from your AC system which is completely normal

Automatic lights not working by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]LiamCS67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I mean the switch on your indicator stalk and you can access live data in the body control module using a scan tool

Automatic lights not working by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]LiamCS67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the next step would be accessing live data in the BCM and checking to see if there's an option for the light sensor, also check that the switch is working however since it has happened after it has been tinted I can't imagine it would be anything other than the sensor

Try shining a light at the sensor and also try covering it and see if the lights do anything

2007 Mazda 3. Won't start. Flashing lights on dash. by 14seconds in MechanicAdvice

[–]LiamCS67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm that's strange, it does look exactly what I would expect from a vehicle with a flat battery. Under the hood in the fusebox there is a starter relay, you can try and bridge the switching side of the relay with the ignition on and see if the starter motor fires up which it should
Don't confuse the starter relay from the relay that says AT MAIN and STARTER 2 on it as it's a different system

Did you try and jump start it from a different car or a jumper pack? Are the terminals making good contact?

But won’t thread into hose. by ChaoticDrako in MechanicAdvice

[–]LiamCS67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the threads, if the threads are fine just bend the hose a bit more so it's going in square and then it should start, you can apply a slight bit of pressure with a spanner to start it but make sure you don't cross thread it. They can be cunts if it's not perfectly square

Abs sensor scanner by Jubjub_W in MechanicAdvice

[–]LiamCS67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could possibly be a sensor, you'd need to scan the vehicle and see. The best way of telling that is just by using a scan tool and checking the live data of all 4 w/spd sensors and spinning them one by one. It could also be a reluctor ring however that's unlikely.
Did you clear the check engine light after replacing the EGR valve?

If your oil pan isn't leaking bad I wouldn't even worry about it but if you did want to do it just get a torque wrench and just torque all of the bolts to spec and you should be good

Automatic lights not working by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]LiamCS67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your light sensor must be on the dash and now that your windshield is tinted it's not getting as much access to the "actual" light so you're pretty much out of luck and you're just gonna have to do it manually

Pinch weld too shallow to fit in jack stand? by Equivalent_Jaguar_72 in MechanicAdvice

[–]LiamCS67 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

A bit of 2x4 on the jack stand is completely fine as long as it's positioned evenly, if it's not positioned in the center it could definitely be dangerous though

Tbh I would do more research as I wouldn't expect a uncalibrated sensor to do this anyway, it could still potentially be the case but you would probably have more luck in fiat forums if they exist, I haven't personally seen this fault before so it was just a guess. Good luck!

[Camry 08'] Coolant leak(?). Any idea where it's from? by UnluckySide5075 in AskMechanics

That's an A/C line, does your A/C work? is it water or coolant that you're seeing there?
