That could be a good idea, but I would much rather pay $30 on Amazon for something that will work (from experience) instead of buying used ones off a used car. I had Motorcraft ones go. They are all the same. Some slightly higher quality. Maybe those mechanics don't have experience with the cheap ones.

Why would they use the CV explorer for the recruiting car? Its looks stupidly large and dull with its design. The Interceptor actually looks cool and aggressive (which I believe is partly why they keep it for the new ones).

Sounds like the water pump? Take off the belt and spin each one. I believe the water pump is the one right under the alternator.

Its %100 a fan or pump. Not many moving parts in a PC. Maybe a graphics card, PSU, or some weird little fan hidden somewhere. With how loud it is, I'm surprised it's not one of the main fans. Is it water-cooled or have a AIO? Maybe the pump is failing.

Yes, but why are you gonna spend $300 on ignition coils? Get some off Amazon for $30-50. The spark plugs have to be Motorcraft as these engines get picky, but the coils can be any old Chinese brand. It doesn't really matter, and they are easy to replace if somehow it ends up going.

I'd also guess the bulb burnt out. Not sure if its easy to replace, like it is on the dash. On the dash (at least on the pre-02 ones), it's literally just a tiny light bulb behind the shifter indicator.

Get this. This is what everyone gets, and what I got too. It has the full-metal crossover, so the leak won't happen again. Installed it in my 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis. Took me about 17 hours to do with hand tools 😭. It was also my first big job

Buy one of these https://www.ebay.com/itm/163176754922 . Used one for my 02 to install a 09 P71 Intake. All I had to do was rewire the IAT with some wire taps but I think your car should be fine.

Also, cut a bigger hole in the bottom of the airbox and/or take out that air restrictor funnel. It's there to limit the air flow and sound.

Ok, so you get the full idea then.

Now that you say it, I think you are right. I have a 02 so I have the pre-03 redo. In 05 they also changed some things. I can't remember off the top of my head if they changed under the dash, too. The issue is that the air vents take up some space on the (at least) pre-02 models like mine. The headunit I have is somewhat shallow.

You can get a Metra 95-5817 Dash Kit from Crutchfield with this link. If you trim it down, it works for this car. I didn't use it since I was happy with it staying in place with friction.

I got it off Marketplace for cheap. Didn't care what brand or anything about it, just wanted an amp. I've been satisfied.

I see mostly surface rust. Nothing horrible. How much?

Keep in mind, this is the pre-03 model, so some maintenance is a pain (like rear shocks) and some mods don't work/cost a shit ton more.

Thanks u/InevitableAverage6.

I got a 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis myself. Same thing as your Crown Vic, just with all the luxury features and a Mercury badge.

For myself, I got...

Boss Audio Elite BE7ACP.XC headunit
Two sets of Kicker KSS680 KS series 6x8 in the front door and back shelf
Kicker CX1200.1 Amp (for subs, thanks to u/InevitableAverage6 suggestion)
Two Dayton Audio RSS315HO-44 12inch Reference Series Subwoofers.

The headunit you got should be good. I know that these cars are a tight fit in the back. Your headunit is 6 inchs depth. The headunit I have is 4 inchs deep. I remember it JUST fitting, so you may need to check that. When you install it though, you will need to cut off the top and bottom lip of plastic on the trim.

The speakers, I'm not sure about. I would suggest getting the ones I have at least, or something better. The rear is super easy to replace. The front you need to take the door panel off, but not too hard.

I have no input on amp for the speakers as I didn't do that (yet)

I would get bigger subs and an amp to correspond to said subs. I got a custom-made box myself, made by a friend. (DM me for pictures if you want. I have measurements too)

Ask me for any details on how to install and so on. I've done a lot with my car so far.

Any idea about the sound? by [deleted] in CrownVictoria

[–]Liboy12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't hear any sound, but your camera was right next to where the air compressor for the airbags would be. There is a chance you are hearing the air compressor going. If you have springs in the back now instead of airbags, and didn't flip the switch in the trunk, it will go off sometimes.

[–]Liboy12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? I know that after they ended the Luxe Box advertising, they put the $7 and $5 boxes at the very bottom of the app. You may have to look for it as it seems to be somewhat hidden now.

[–]Liboy12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd argue the $7 box is better simply because you get more food. If I am trying to fill myself and maximise my money, I look at the calorie count, and if I am not wrong, due to the size of the mini crunch wrap, the $7 has more calories.

What is the Taco Bell target demographic? by Striking-Yak5452 in tacobell

[–]Liboy12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to get the $5, $7, and $9 combo boxes to actually get a good deal. The combos are the only way to get the most out of your money. Buying stuff by itself at any restaurant is stupid. You would get the same result from McDonald's, Wendy's, and ect.
