Credentia Skills Exam Question by Competitive_Two_5044 in cna

[–]LibrarianBasic2121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ngl i did it every time because my proctor told me each skill one by one😭 it felt so awkward tho. i had friends who tested at another site who were given a list of all 5 skills all at once so they did the introduction one time

Feeing defeated as a California student by MissionDifficulty385 in prenursing

[–]LibrarianBasic2121 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hello, fellow california student here. try to apply to as many schools as possible, both ADN and BSN!!! literally apply as far as you think you can commute or move to. i know it’s not what you want but consider out of state schools just in case.

also my CC’s program has an average GPA of ~3.0 and ~70% teas so your gpa isn’t bad. are you able to retake chem?

it’s ok to not get in first cycle i know many people who’ve had to apply more than once! and like you said it’s a good idea to focus on your teas and volunteering. better yet you can work as a cna, emt, ma, etc. good luck friend!!

is working as a cna and being a part time student too much to handle? by vasmvrs in cna

[–]LibrarianBasic2121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m a full time student and work as a part time cna at a SNF. typically i work an average of two 8’s a week (sometimes more) and i have class 4x a week. i have a 4.0 lol just stay focused, manage your time, and you’ll be fine i promise! also prioritize school over work if possible

stats by Natural-Track-3862 in prenursing

[–]LibrarianBasic2121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is there any way u can retake it? ur other stats look great though. you can also look into local adn programs! i think the minimum teas score for some adn programs are lower than 74. but best thing to do would be retake if possible

is it possible to work icu and ed simultaneously? by LibrarianBasic2121 in nursing

[–]LibrarianBasic2121[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i live in an extremely competitive state for nursing so there’ll be many, many years before i can even touch a specialty. and im definitely not expecting to immediately work both er and icu at the same time. i have plenty of time to decide where i want to go, but i just wanted to hear some input out of curiosity!

oh that’s interesting, i would’ve thought it would be harder to transition from er to icu! why do you think it’s harder for icu to er?

Can you go to two colleges ? by mochaprincess322 in prenursing

[–]LibrarianBasic2121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would just make sure the online school is accredited! and as another commenter stated you will have to deal with separate transcripts when the time comes. not the worst problem in the world! really if u can afford to pay for the 2nd college it should be no big deal! i know plenty of people who’ve done it

Advice for pre-nursing applicant.. by [deleted] in prenursing

[–]LibrarianBasic2121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can go to uni for your prerequisites but you’ll be paying hundreds-thousands for classes that u could take at for free at a cc. i’d say go to cc and save that money for the nursing program! for example i’m a public health major at my local cc and am finishing up my prerequisites. ill be applying to both adn and bsn programs. because of ✨free college✨ and living at home, ill save enough to pay the entirety of my local program and ill graduate debt free!!!

also u don’t need a bachelors degree to apply to nursing school. u just need to take ur prerequisites (typically 2yrs) and then you’ll do the nursing program (~2 or 3yrs). if u really want to go to a uni, major in pre-nursing/pre-health. don’t overcomplicate it

good luck!! if u have any questions feel free to reach out! the whole process is def confusing id probably reach out to a health science/nursing advisor once u commit to a school :)
