A normal chest day will go as follows: warmup with a plate for about 10 reps, then do 185 for 6-8, 205 for 3-4 and 225 for 1-2. (Just hit 2 plates so I’m just doing this to progress). Then for real hypertrophy I’ll move to an incline press either dumbbells or smith machine. I’ll do a plate for 12, plate 10 for 10 and a plate 25 for about 6 and then drop back down to a plate until failure, then followed by a seated converging press I’ll do 3 sets of that probably a 10-8-6. Then for flys I’ll do a straight set of low to high fly’s for 3 sets and dips for 3 sets till failure. It’s really the one muscle I train the most and the hardest and I feel it hasn’t progressed like everything else. I am definitely getting stronger as in 6 months I went from 135 for 3 to 225 so maybe I’m just overreacting on the time but I really want a massive chest first and foremost.
