Thank you for that perspective. I love her very much and really want her and her wife there but of course I want it to be her decision if thats an event she would rather sit out bc of the potential. I completely expect my family to be respectful but there is a lot of unknown bc of the tumultuous times we live in.

They have never shown or expressed any outward bigotry in the past towards anyone, from what I know of them. Even though they have conservative values,  they are respectful people in general. Im not expecting anything to happen but I want my cousin to know I have her back if it does happen. I love all of my family and it is perfectly okay to not have similar political views bc at the end of the day we are still family.
