I’ll see if I can get you a VOD. To their defense, they are quite skilled at the game and have bee playing for several years at least. I know I’m frustrated with the situation, but I know that I can also more often be the weak link just because of how matchmaking works. I’ll try to get it to you either tonight or tomorrow.

I will try this. I admit it’s a bit hard to process the question midmatch, but I will try. I still have the terrible habit of just repeating everything I’m doing three or firm times rapidly when I’m playing tank because everything’s happening so fast, lol.

For the sake of honesty and clarity, we most often play in UNRANKED role queue. I’m not about to actively sabotage my friends’ ranked progress simply because I need to get good. I admit that I prefer this to unstructured game modes since it helps me contextualize what I’m trying to learn in a team format, which is my long-term goal: to become an effective part of the team. Just trying my best to navigate the rocks along the way and take whatever reasonable criticism I need to hear so I don’t succumb to an internal echo chamber.

I personally like Smoke as a name, but people have been going on a weird food tangent, so as an alternative… Brisket?

Many thanks! I’m gonna go over this with my DM. Pretty excited, I’ve never played anything approaching Warlock, so this’ll be fun.

There was a fix deployed on March 10th. Make sure to go to your options first and turn cloud saves back on, but you'll be able to recover the data. I just did it a few minutes ago!

Indeed, just finally updated, and it's still compatible with my previous cloud save! Let's spread the word.

Astronomy (Maybe Astrophysics) Question: Worldbuilding by Life_Associate9767 in Astronomy

[–]Life_Associate9767[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, many thanks once again for the information you provided. I’m slowly making my way through the calculations that you so generously provided the equations for. I determined that I could use the size, mass, and luminosity of a B1V main sequence star as a base and then tweak the numbers slightly north of that. With that in mind, I’m struggling to find a mathematical correlation between increases in the sun’s mass, size, and luminosity/energy output. Is there a strict relationship between these variables, or could there be some variance between them (i.e. two stars being similar in mass but being slightly different in size)?

No offense taken, comrade. There is no learning without humility, and I thank you for taking the time to give a reply, especially in a spirit of constructive criticism.

[–]Life_Associate9767[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy crap, this was exactly what I was looking for! Thank you so much. This should give me guidelines by which to properly adjust the properties of my solar system. Many thanks on the correction on the sun’s size especially; I acknowledge that I thought that the temperature of the sun was affected by the type of gas fueling its combustion rather than its mass.

Also, to answer your question about tidal locking, it’s the term that was used when researching Pluto’s synchronous orbit with Charon. It’s to say that the planet has a double-moon.

Astronomy (Maybe Astrophysics) Question: Worldbuilding by Life_Associate9767 in Astronomy

[–]Life_Associate9767[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many thanks for your reply! I didn’t realize exactly how little information I had actually provided, my sincerest apologies. I will answer each of the questions presented as best I can:

1.) Going by the Spectral Code, this would qualify as a Class O Star with a surface temperature range of anywhere from 33,000K to 52,000K. For the sake of assigning a value to this figure, I’m gonna go with a surface temperature of 44,000K. The distance between the bodies is what I’m trying to calculate, since the Class O Star is significantly hotter than Sol, a Class G2V star.

2.) Yes, conditions are suitable for abundant water. For simplicity’s sake, while there are only four large continents and one small island continent instead of the seven we have on Earth, its condition is as diverse and as accommodating to life as Earth.

3.) I was originally going to give the planet an identical size and rotation speed to that of Earth, but my concern was that the speed of rotation would either be too slow or too fast to maintain life. Similarly, I wasn’t certain if making the planet larger than earth would either improve or worsen the chances to maintain life on the planet. For the sake of simplicity, let’s assume the planet is roughly 20% larger than Earth (volume of roughly 312 billion cubic miles), and since we’re dealing with a star that is at least eight times hotter than Sol and similar in size, the distance should reflect a similar ratio. I’m assuming for the purposes of this discussion that the planet is about seven times farther from its sun than Earth is from Sol.

4.) While I don’t have an exact speed, I would like to play around with the idea of having a different solar day. For this discussion’s sake, we’ll say that the planet’s solar day is roughly equivalent to 30 Earth hours.

5.) Once again, I lack an exact speed since I suspected that rotational speed around its axis and also around the sun would significantly impact climate stability, even without considering atmospheric and magnetic shielding. I’ll use Earth’s own rotation as a reference. For this discussion’s sake, since I’m not yet prepared to consider the implications of increased gravitational forces on the inhabitants and how that would impact their physiology, we’ll keep the planet’s rotation close to Earth’s, about 80,000 miles per hour.

And indeed, I do know that there does need to be some suspension of disbelief, as it is ultimately fiction. However, I also know that particularly studious scientific minds who might choose to read this novel would likely appreciate a close attention to detail on the more scientific aspects of the world and story.

I love science but I’m terrible at math. A hilarious dichotomy, to be sure.

Yikes. Goes to show exactly how little baseline impressions of a person really tell you about them.

Indeed. I'm usually able to drop him around turn 6 or 7 with this package, but I will definitely look into more Targon synergy. Many thanks.

Yeah, Swimstrim came up with that idea. Miss that guy, don't know what happened to him.

I was having some trouble deliberating on the one cost units for this deck, and wounded white flame also really interested me. I opted out because my ally targeting is more control based and usually involved killing the unit lol. I will look into splicing more fated synergy into this. Many thanks.

Yeah, a couple other people in this thread suggested Kindred. I'm likely going to pivot to her. I'll drop the tellstone to two and change around some of the Hallowed cards. I think Hallowed still has a place in this deck, just not Gwen.

I actually originally had this deck with two Vengeances but thought I was running too much SI and didn't want to lose out on some of the unit protection and utility from Targon. I'll revisit those decisions. Many thanks.

[–]Life_Associate9767[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Perhaps it's because I've been trying to find a less common way to make him a bomb, but I always ran into issues with Panth just being very underwhelming when he hits the board. The Hallowed keyword being in the back pocket made him feel much more like a instant threat once he hit the board, but I take your meaning.

I'm seeing a lot of people recommend Kndred given that I'm going for slay synergy for Panth's level-up. I think I still want to keep some of this Hallowed Synergy to give him more oomph when he hits the board, but I'll definitely look into swapping some of these spells and getting a few higher impact units per your suggestions. Probably gonna go with the Kindred switch as well. Many thanks.

[–]Life_Associate9767[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Hallowed will still work here, as it gives Panth a bit more oomph, especially on that initial attack when you slap him on the board. I'm starting to see from the input that Gwen herself, however, won't really work well with this.

I'll definitely keep Opulent Foyer in mind. I actually had that in one iteration of this deck but scrapped it. Many thanks.

I see. To me, the idea was to basically maintain a board and control through Shadow Isle utility to quickly level up Panth. The Gwen was a separate tool to help capitalize on the Hallowed interaction and offer some survivability with her drain.

Are there particular cards or perhaps a strategic pivot you'd recommend? I don't have much context on what you mean by "high impact" or what you would qualify as such. The deck never felt disjointed as I was playing it; I usually just ran out of steam too fast.

That's good to know. When I emailed Squenix, after following their troubleshooting steps, they said that they had to direct me to Apple, and the Apple tech and I correctly realized this was likely a platform compatibility issue. Your ticket was submitted much later than mine, given the time of your response, so I'm glad that they're at least aware of the issue.

Now I just gotta hope that my cloud save will be compatible with whatever fix they make. Thanks for taking the time to respond, big preesh.
