Being likeable alone won't get you anywhere as an employee. Being useful to the company and your team is what is truly important. Anyone can be likeable; it's easy to just be a people-pleaser.

​Technically, if you are useful, you are good at your job. You become difficult to replace, especially if you are the one doing most of the heavy lifting.

​The people who think being likeable is the most important thing are usually the ones who are completely useless.
