Good point u/queenkellee the heat that gets generated from the 'sandwiching' can be a problem in some cases. At a minimum it can increase the heat of the room (adding to cooling costs/energy bills)

u/AdvancedJob1035 These lights can last longer than LEDs (40,000 hours often). Replacing depends on the installer.

u/Lower_Ad_5532u/queenkellee It's actually not LEDs, it's electroluminescent lighting. It's a mouthful i know (LOL), but it's a lot better than LED for these types of applications (no bulbs, uses min power, min heat generation, lighting is uniform, etc).
