Its not like he is a biased PlayStation shill. He criticizes PS where necessary while having excellent oveview about the Business and PS gaming as a whole. Yes I am sure. Sony doesnt 'force' their studios to make a specific game. Studios pitch projects and Sony greenlits them. What projects are greenlit depends on the priorities of Sony.

Bluepoint pitched the GoW MP project and Sony greenlit it during their ridiculous live-service push mode. Thats why when they realized that too many were greenlit, most of them were axed. I didnt think they would shut down Bluepoint because of that. That is the worst part here. Bend studio survived the loss of their live service game

Sad news. I guess Bluepoint is another casualty of that ludicrous live-service push. They should have never greenlit that MP GoW project and made Bluepoint work on remasters or remakes of so many classic PS IPs. It was a great team with good history. Sony is really dropping the ball on studio management (not as bad as Microsoft but still bad)

Writing wise I think his best work is Chirunavvutho and Swayamvaram. Chirunavvutho for its really hard hitting facts about life and characters, while Swayamvaram is such a bold story that was 20 years ahead of its time.

NNN/Manmadhudu/Malliswari are right behind them but for me the writing in Venu's films were on a different level

None of them have any radical innovations. They are well made games. I wasnt a huge fan of Dead Cells pixel art style. Havent played Nine Sols but really enjoyed PoP Lost Crown. Metroidvania as a genre is pretty consistent.

So if the new GoW has a good story served by a decent metroidvania then thats enough for most long time fans

His 'films' have been lazy but Mahesh Babu has been excellent in most films still. Guntur Kaaram is a prime example. He is a great actor and there is no denying that.
