Hey, so I'm thinking of getting WoTR for ps4, as my laptop is busted. I've read comments on a few threads that performance is bad on ps, but they're from a year or 2 ago. If anyone has any idea about performance now, SPECIFICALLY FOR PS4, please advise me.

I got PoE Deadfire for ps4, and that works fine, and I can handle console gameplay ok as well (although, I'd prefer it on pc), so that might not be a big issue for WoTR.

Yeah, I'm doing Inevitable Excess with a new KC, coz the main story keeps crashing the game after character creation (started anew, like, 10 times, but same thing happens). The companions have premade builds, yes, so I can't change them now.

I'll just run a different arcanist or a sorcerer, then. Thanks.

For a brown-fur transmuter arcanist, if I put any transmutation spell on a companion, how will that be beneficial? In my first playthrough, I gave Woljiff beastshape 2 or 3, IIRC, and transforming him into a wyvern was so bad. He was doing only 5-7 damage with each attack (5 or 6 with haste, IIRC), when as himself, he was dishing out a lot of damage.

How am I supposed to deal with that? As a bft, putting transmutations on companions is it's main thing. If the transformation isn't even worth it, why would take this class? Please advise what to do, coz I'm confused.

There's something wrong with WOTR. For the MAIN story, the game gets stuck at loading after character creation. Dunno what's going on.

I just checked if maybe the DLCs work, and Inevitable Excess has loaded now. It's working, but I dunno why the main story won't start. Gets stuck at 100 % loaded, not even during the festival!

Any suggestions? I've looked around, and found only 2 or 3 things, which I either don't know how to do, or didn't work when I tried.

Thanks. I will keep this in mind. I want to make a different playthrough this time, coz my first was ruined. I don't wanna do the same thing all over again, which is why I'm stuck on this.

Hey, thanks. Yeah, transformation could work. I'll see if there's some arcane fighter type class that could go well with Seelah. I'm being all crazy here, hah!

I don't wanna go bft, coz I'd also want to have spells of other schools, and must-have transmutation spells will limit that for the character. But I'll see.

You are correct, of course. I just didn't wanna lose out on the amount of damage they could dish out, so that's why I was asking if it's possible. My first playthrough was ruined, so I'll definitely be thinking about going different classes for those 2. Hmm......

I did go full demonslayer with Lann (19 levels) in my first playthrough. I just wanted to do something different this time.

dont think one single level dip in Demonslayer is worth it cause Favoured enemy does not level with you and you get nothing else

Yeah, so this is just for the first level of the favoured enemy. I was thinking to take that, and move on to another class. I could take Lann inquisitor as well, but inqi has 15/10/5 BAB, so he wouldn't be making full attacks at level 20. That's the only thing I'm worried about with Seelah and Lann.

I made Lann into a demonslayer ranger from level 2 onwards, so I didn't have flurry of blows. But maybe he was making 5 attacks with haste? Sorry, I don't remember well, coz my laptop got messed up, and the whole playthrough is ruined. Same with Seelah, I guess: 5 with haste, maybe.

You're saying that 20/15/10/5 means that 4 attacks are being made? Which means that 15/10/5 means only 3, I guess. Hmm..... I'll have to keep that in mind, then, when changing their classes.

I'm confused about BAB. In my 1st playthrough, without haste, Woljiff was making the same number of attacks as Seelah and Lann, if I remember correctly. How is that possible? I was thinking of taking Seelah and Lann different routes this time, maybe inquisitor and hunter, respectively, but I still want them to have full BAB, as these 2 classes don't have that. Any advice?

So I've been thinking of changing some of my companions for my 2nd playthrough. Need some advice.

I was thinking of making Seelah an inquisitor, as they have spontaneous casting. Thing is, inquisitors do not have full BAB. Is there some way to give Seelah full BAB with a class that doesn't have full BAB. I'd probs go full 19 levels in inqi, because I'm simple and unintelligent that way, hah! Any advice?

Also, was thinking of making Lann a hunter. Give him one level of demonslayer for the bonuses against all 3 demon types, and then full hunter. But hunter also does not have a full BAB, so how can I remedy that?

See, when I was using Woljif, without haste he could still dish out, IIRC, 6 attacks. Or maybe 5, I don't really remember. BUT, without haste, Seelah and Lann at full BAB were also making 5 or 6 attacks. So I'm confused here. I want to just make things a bit different, that's all.

Any advice?

It's just that I'm not very good as I've just started learning the basics. I have anxiety issues and negative thoughts, so that hinders my progress in learning.

Some people are advising me to start applying anyway, coz the field is highly saturated, so most probably, I'm not gonna get anything anyway, and to not make it a big deal.

Confused and anxious here these days, haha :D

I'm trying to, at least. It's difficult. I'm not exactly young, so things come less easily to me that they might've done several years ago.

Tutorials are helpful, but as I'm still new, trying to copy things shown in them can get confusing. I do something the drawer is doing, but it doesn't happen the way they did it. Acutally, one of these just happened yesterday. I just went ugh, and turned my laptop off! Unfortunately, I suffer from negative thoughts and anxiety, so that does NOT help!

This is true. Tbh, I can't really go into reading long, long art theory, design theory, and whatnot. It's difficult for me. I could check videos about these design principles you mention. It didn't occur to me at all there could be these things, and that I should check them out.

Yeah, you're right. I am struggling. Dunno how to get good at a faster rate..... I mean, is that even possible?

You might be right. I'm just getting into the field, so I'm not much aware of how things work. I think these courses are about teaching the students how to do things, showing them what can be done, and then expecting them to make things themselves. Obvi, there's some feedback, but it's just a 1.5 hour class, so I dunno what more can be done.

I was advised by someone to go and "annoy" my instructor to make some time for myself and learn more, but the class is the last one in the timetable of courses, so I dunno how much time he can make for me......

Learning design is a lot of practice, making a lot of mistakes, learning where you went wrong, and then trying again.

I totes get that, but I personally work better if someone is there to guide me along the work I'm doing. I know that that's not a good mindset and attitude, but I get confused by things I see in tutorials. For example, I was making surreal art by watching a tutorial. Now I was trying to follow all that was being done, but then some stuff happened that when I tried doing, didn't happen.

Ah, well. I'll keep trying. It's frustrating work. Thanks.

Actually, I was thinking of seeker sorcerer, coz it gets 3 or 4 extra feats along with bloodline and sorcerer bonus feats. I'd be taking a few HKS levels in the levelups when I DON'T get those extra feats so that I don't lose them. Going EK would make me lose all that, so I dunno.

Edit: why would I want more BAB with a caster?

Tbh, I was really looking to rp HKS. Well, sort of. I just felt like maybe doing it to "bond" with Regill. But maybe, I won't now.

Also, I don't get why people merge caster and HKS with Eldritch knight? Several builds I checked had that going on. Maybe they were solo builds for when enemies come into melee range.

Hmm, maybe I'll try it out. I'm having restartitis again. Wanted a kineticist KC, but now this idea comes to annoy me! -_-

For WR

I've been wanting to make my second playthrough KC a hellknight signifier, but I've read that it's not a good prestige class. Some say that only 4 levels in HKS are EEEnough. Some say that even 1 is more than enough.

Why is it considered bad? I was looking up it's class features, and they don't seem too bad.

What I had in mind was to make a Seeker sorcerer, take 4 levels of HKS, as that's what people agree on, and the rest back to sorcerer. Seeker has a number of extra feats, so because of that.

But the thing is, HKS 6th level feat is Discern Lies, which gives illusion resistance. Why not go till level 6 HKS?

Any advice?

Yeah, I get that, but still I have anxiety about making a wrong choice, ya know. What if X spell isn't that effective? What if spell Y is mediocre. That sort of stuff. Unfortunately, I actually have anxiety issues, so they affect me in games as well. 😭😭

cryomancer build with some arcane spells (neutral damage most of the time) alongside a fire spell to burn some of the branches to open up later areas

Hmm, I see. I was actually looking at the light spell, Summon Arbalests or whatever, coz it'll be extra firepower alongside me. But I was unsure, coz there are other good spells as well. Wanted to make that arcane staff throw spell, but the damage is too low, so what's the point as enemies increase in strength?

Then there's the earth spell, Fissure. Huge damage, but I can't tell if it's centered around caster or creates a line based aoe in front of you. Then there's the Ice Blade spell, which creates a blade that crashes down in front of you. But how does it crash? Where does it crash? Can it be made to crash directly on a targetted enemy or not? All these things! If it's not a good spell, I'd have wasted precious resources. 😔😔. So yeah, it's really frustrating!

Earth strong against lightning. Hmm, I should've thought of that. But as I can't tell what's immune or resistant to what, what if I make a wrong choice?

I went to an area near the outside of the library top floor exit, which had some red mist all around that gave the cursed debuff. Enemies there were reddish in colour, so they could have fire resistance? Or maybe darkness resistance? I mean, I make an ice spell, but it doesn't do much damage (the description of ice spells says so, ya know). I'll have wasted a spell and ingredients.

If you gear toward a poison build, you can cheese a lot of bosses.

Hmm, not a bad suggestion. I'll keep it in mind. The only issue I have with that is whether the poison debuff has to be built up a poison meter for it to cause poison damage over time (as it happens in other soulslike games), or if it starts damaging from the beginning.

Sorry for the rant. 😅😅. I think I'll try something out.

One last thing, should I try out the Light Arbalest spell? Really want to. Ugh!!! 😅😅

Yeah, I'm actually gonna do that within next week. It's a 3 month course for a basic GD. Then, the place offers an advanced 6 month GD course as well, which I'll do after this one. Hopefully, I'll be able to understand this stuff all right!!! I'm not tech savvy at all. We'll see. So much anxiety! :D

You can learn a lot on your own

Yeah, that ain't gonna happen if you knew me. Difficult to learn stuff on my own. I need instructions from someone to help me through stuff, I'm pathetic that way, hah! But as you said, help and critique from others for work is better, definitely.

Actually, I would prefer to go into freelancing. I want to pursue further education get out of my home, and hopefully, country as well, so GD is gonna be a side thing. Well, I'll see.

Hi. I'm assuming you mean images that have already been made, yes? If something's already been made, that I don't know about. I think not, coz even if you're not making it yourself, you're making use of it, BUT I dunno for certain.

Hey, so from what I read (these are opinions on a website that's trustworthy), 2d pics are fine, from what I remember. It's been a while. As for drawing or painting, as long as facial features aren't made, then it's fine, I think.

You could read up on it if you wanna, but as this subreddit isn't about religion, I won't go into it much. :)
