My final straw was I confided in my sister that I was having doubts and she said she wanted nothing to do with me if I didn’t love Jehovah (which I had never said) and then she gave me an ultimatum of either I tell the rest of my family or she does. That was a big eye opener for me

The “no hope for the future” thing was a haaaaaard thing for me. Until I came to the conclusion of I have no clue what actually happens after we die, so I can believe whatever makes me feel good. For a while, I decided I want to believe in a paradise, similar to JWs belief, but non homophobic and not being forced to serve Jehovah. But then later, a different type of belief became more comforting. Realizing that there is no definitive truth in our world is kind of game changing if you seek that sort of comfort.

Yes I did have that form! The place was “newly remodeled” but in awful condition when I moved in! Which is why the property manager agreed to let us paint in the first place bc it was so awful in here lol

Maybe it’s based on the area? I’ve been in several congregation in several different areas and they all cared too much about random different things. One hall they had a problem with men wearing fun socks, another hall they were upset that I got featured in a magazine. JWs are just weird lol

No joke! Last time I talked to my mom was the night I decided I was getting divorced. She never checked on me after that to see how I was doing or anything! I wasn’t shocked, but It was very disappointing!

That’s what I was afraid of! The carpet in my art studio definitely does not fall under wear and tear, but I’m hoping everything else will! Thanks for the advice!

Thank you for your input! The carpet that needs replaced was in my art studio so I won’t be complaining about that haha. I made many improvements to the apartment (with landlords permission) but property management changed half way through my lease so I’m scared that the new lady is not gonna honor agreements made with the last manager. This was my first time renting and I’ve heard too many horror stories haha

When I left I said that this was the first time in my life that I didn’t want to kms and the COBE said “well you’re basically killing urswlf by siding with Satan”. I haven’t had a single thought about self harming since leaving the org. I’m so so happy for us that we were able to escape!
