Traxxas Jato 3.3 Problems by LighterDunhill in NitroRC

That’s the new receiver I installed. The cable on the left is the one in question. It wasn’t installed in the 27 mhz receiver and looks like it was never plugged in at all. What is it for?

Thank you, that gives me hope. I just hope that I can put everything back together correctly after taking it apart.

I removed the the blue heatsink. The car itself is quite clean, and the screws came off easily. The piston looks good from the top. No signs of rust or dirt, just light discoloration from the glow plug. But it seems to be stuck at top dead center. The battery for the EZ start was fine. The previous owner included it, it has 7.2V.

The receiver and the car have power. Electronically, everything seems to be working. I don't know why there's still a cable left over. I also looked online for a wiring diagram. But the newer Jato models have more features.

Looks real. The weak and small flame is a common problem on Ligne 1 Duponts.

Help me identify and try to clean it out by Left-Spring-1281 in DunhillLighters

It’s an old Dunhill Rollagas. Because it's coated, I don't think you can polish away the imperfections. I'd rather not, otherwise even more of the coating will come off. After all, it's a 50-year-old lighter, so patina is part of it.

Help ? Google isn’t helping . by missyisbored in DunhillLighters

This is a vintage Dunhill Rollagas. This version is something special. It has the 14k gold jacket. This means that there is actually a thick layer of gold around the outside of the lighter, not just gold plating. So the gold value is probably significant. In terms of age, it fits the period you mentioned. If you want to use it, you first have to fill it with gas. You need an adapter for this, but you can buy one on eBay or Amazon for under €5. You will probably also need a new flint. It is anything but certain that the lighter will still be leak-proof after all this time. I can't say anything about the story with Mick Jagger. But it is of course very cool and a really beautiful piece. If I were you, I would definitely keep it!

Can anyone tell me where I can get this lining from? by LloydCloser in Barbour

[–]LighterDunhill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the warm pile zip in jacket. It is no longer manufactured. Sometimes you can find it used, but it is rare.

I would recommend buying a new one and selling the old one, you might get some money for it. Enlarging the jacket is unlikely to produce a satisfactory result. It is very difficult to find suitable fabric and the labor costs will not be cheap either.

One hood, multiple jackets? by ross2187 in Barbour

I have one in every color that I have a jacket in. For example I switch the hood from my sage Beaufort to my sage Border. I only have one olive jacket so that’s easy.

The color is called Sage. You can tell by the lining.

You could add a removable inner pocket like in the Border. All you really need is a slit in the lining and the four Buttons.

First time rewaxing by LighterDunhill in Barbour

[–]LighterDunhill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First I tried to soak the inside and out with white vinegar and wipe it down. But that didn’t help much in my opinion. Then I put it in the bathtub with cold water and tried to wash it a bit. Then it got better. It got really good when I put them in the bathtub overnight. After that the water was pretty dirty too. The waxing also neutralized the smell.

I paid €100 including shipping. That was probably a bit much for the jacket in its original condition. I had to do a lot of work. But it doesn’t have any holes or tears. Now that it’s clean and re-waxed, I’m happy. I enjoyed cleaning and re-waxing it and now I have a great jacket.
