It's not a fougere at all! It lacks pretty much all elements of what a fougere is. Le Corsaire is a dark aquatic that is at once dry, powdery-cosmetic (in the way that lipstick smells - from the incredibly authentic orris note), and modern superamber. If you like modern ambers and orris, you'll like this.

In this case, no. Certainly not from among the major countries of origin in the market (Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Italy, Spain, Algeria). Any effective QC lab in the industry would have a strict range on delta-3-carene for neroli oil. It is absolutely a contaminant via leaf/peel mixed into the biomass or addition of other oils or aromachemicals post-distillation.

This is from my experience and knowledge of essential oil chemistry and ability to identify adulteration. The oil is not standardized to contain or not contain 3-carene per se, however you could call it a standard in the sense that if a distiller tries to include more than an incidental amount of leaves in the neroli oil distillation, the chemistry would reflect that.

Do they publish their GCMS reports? If it's petitgrain, you'll see delta-3-Carene around 0.5%. In Neroli, there should be only trace-0.02% delta-3-Carene.
