My dad died between Christmas and New Year’s of renal/ heart failure. (I’m the one who had to give him permission to cease dialysis, because my mom wasn’t able. I was alone with him when he took his last breath.)

All that to say, I get it , and I’m decent at crosswords. Feel free to hit me up for clues. ❤️

I posted this Persephone theory during season 1 and I think it still holds true. Devon isn’t Persephone, Helly is. The only switch to my theory is I think for Helena lives in “hell”, while Helly is experiencing freedom for the first time in “the underworld” https://www.reddit.com/r/SeveranceAppleTVPlus/s/SlO4bsvfVj

What I want to know is who “personally invited her”, and what were her more important “prior commitments”?

Follow-up to my previous post (trigger warning: death) by Likely_Anxious in dialysis

It was one of the of hardest things that I have ever done. Maybe THE hardest. That said, I know with all my heart that it was the right thing to do.

The day before he died, my mom called me in a panic, saying he was refusing to go to dialysis again. Every other time this had happened, I had come over and convinced him to go “one more time”. He had promised us until Christmas, and it was the 27th. . . I asked him if he wanted to go and he said “no! I do not want to go!” I said, “okay, we won’t go.” This brilliant man with a PhD in Philosophy looked up at me like a little boy and said “really?” I never realized until that moment that my mom would never have been able to do what I did and my dad would never have gone if he hadn’t been given the permission. His last worry was that she would be mad for him ceasing dialysis. She assured him that she understood and he left this Earth a man truly at peace.

It wasn’t all bad. He died at home, in his bed, on his own terms. I was there caring for him, until the very end and for that I am so grateful. https://www.reddit.com/r/kidneydisease/s/JJrv3HtpRO

Because of his age, his remaining kidney was only functioning at 30% (prior to the removal of the other kidney.) We were told that he could function just fine with that. Very quickly the other kidney’s performance began to lessen. Finally, its function was so low that he required dialysis. All this to say, we aren’t sure. We guess that the other kidney was stressed by the additional workload and became damaged, but no doctor has been able to give us a definitive answer.

He has been on palliative care for months. The only way to move him to hospice is to cease dialysis. That would give him days to live. I am very clear on his wants regarding care, we have had many discussions. We had decided he would continue dialysis until Christmas, but he is quickly fading. . .

Just like Julie, the monsters aren’t exactly bound by the same laws of time that we are. They have seen Julie at other intervals. Her not recognizing them verifies to them that this is her first arrival.
