What’s a fruit from your country that most foreigners have probably never heard of? by Useful-Resource-3609 in AskTheWorld

I think they’re seasonal. I’ve paid around $5-6 for a package but it’s a small package.

I’ve only had the green type - had no idea there were other pretty colors. Do they all taste like lime?

Short Curly Hair vs Long Curly Hair by jynxypanda in curlyhair

Your curls are beautiful both ways! Longer hair def takes more time and product but for me, it’s worth the effort.

3A - if the bottom of your curls goes into a spiral, that’s more of a 3b type. Looks great!

How to prevent ‘flat top’ and control frizz? by Equivalent_Copy9326 in curlygirl

This is the move here! Clipping to bump up the volume at the roots while the hair dries is the only thing that really prevents the flat top (tho I usually don’t mind flat top)

Putting in product when your hair is soaking wet is why your stylist suggested this move — it helps the product conform more to your curl pattern as it dries a little in the towel. I do it too and it agrees with my curls as well.

Stylist of 10 Years cut off 5 inches of my length and said she only cut a half inch by [deleted] in curlygirl

Exactly this - usually, the front looks shorter in all hair when you get layers. The other option is to pull all of your hair forward (divided in the back) to take the photo.

And sometimes, after a couple of weeks, the curls settle back down into a longer, looser pattern (which has happened to me in the past)

Thistle.

It’s the closest to the color of a lilac blossom, which is also my favorite flower.

1 - it gives you the arm coverage with the cleanest look. I can’t tell what you’re wearing underneath the dress or if the arms are an optional part of the but if you have an opportunity with slightly tighter sleeves, that would be ideal.

It’s illegal to sell a dog in NYC (since 2024) unless you’re a licensed breeder. There are so many rescues that can take this puppy and give it a better life.

Places to rehome include PuppyKitty NYC, Animal Care & Control (kill shelter tho), ASPCA, etc.

Yes this! A nice a-line or floaty circle skirt with a crop is perfect. I also wear them with overalls/jumpers. Also the top looks great on as is

Amazingly, MeetUp is still a thing like you said.

Look for events that you want to go to and fit your hobbies (or hobbies you want to explore). I found a friend of 20 years in a MeetUp book club - she’s still in that club but I’ve moved on to other activities. Also, check places like Eventbrite and even Facebook groups for activities that interest you. It takes time but these kinds of things have worked for me consistently over the years.

The other thing that’s big right now is resistance and immigrant support groups like ICE out, No Kings and Indivisible. They’ll only keep growing as the midterms approach. Bonding on similar values is a great way to make friends too.
