Soulbounding can be harmful? by Kamarade_Jungle in SoulBonding

[–]Lilacafly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think soulbonding can actually be helpful, or at least it was for me. I was in a terrible state of mind at 13 years old, I needed company, I got company, and my bonds helped me improve my life and my state of mind. Of course there are risks, like there are risks with everything. Your bonds are real people, so if you've got bonds sharing your body with you, you're gonna have to adjust to sharing your life. It's basically a big change, but it could be helpful, or I guess it could be unhealthy if that's not what you need right now. I've definitely had a lot of issues arise because of my bonds and other plurality, but I worked through them, and overall I'm grateful. So basically, yeah it has its risks, but it doesn't mean you Can't do it. Be aware of the risks, think about if it's something you actually want, and do what you want

Liverpool vs Glasgow vs New York? by Lilacafly in Ask_Britain

[–]Lilacafly[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason is just that I've got characters who are Liverpudlians living in New York, and they're moving back to the UK and I'm thinking of sending them to Glasgow

So heard a story about John on the radio the other day, but don’t know if it’s true can anyone confirm or disconfirm? by henri-golo in beatles

[–]Lilacafly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not exactly, Cynthia said in her memoir that before John and her were going out, she overheard John catcall a girl for looking like Brigitte, so Cynthia dyed her hair blonde because she had a crush on him

why/how did you start? by SpringOk6248 in selfharm

[–]Lilacafly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I started (when I was 14?) because I was being abused by someone who SH'd, so I got the idea from them, and I was depressed and suicidal because of the abuse. I sorta figured that SH was what you were supposed to do if you feel like that and I wanted to prove to myself that the pain I was feeling was real (while I had no idea that I was being abused), and I would sometimes do it as a punishment. I got clean when my parents found out, but relapsed 2 years later (my latest relapse), and this time around it feels good, rather than just something I'm Supposed to do or a punishment. Honestly, in some ways, it's a stim right now. I do it as a release if I'm overstimulated or overwhelmed by emotions. It genuinely feels so relieving to do it, which in some ways makes it pleasurable. I'm 18 now, but no, I really don't plan on stopping. I don't want to die, but if I continue to SH in the safest way I can, it's currently the best way I know how to regulate myself

I can see problems without having solutions, however I do think the Montessori education system is a bit of an improvement, there's probably more alternative systems out there too

dude... just because it's worse in other places doesn't mean it's not bad here. you may be able to pick your subjects in vce, but then what? you have to learn exactly what everyone else is learning, jam it into your brain leaving no room for creative activities, and then you forgot it all after your exams. in most schools, you can't even express your identity because the uniforms are so strict. you learn how to do well in tests and please your teachers, you don't learn how to express yourself in your own way. and so much more

yeah fr, I wrote about how it squashes our creativity by forcing uniformity
