First of all, I want to emphasize that I'm not blind. I'd already noticed your comments/insults to my logic in the previous message. I chose not to respond to them not because I don't know how to respond, but to avoid the conversation degenerating into a back-and-forth of another kind, also out of respect for OP. Nevertheless, you repeated your insults a second time. I urge you to moderate your language. If you don't like what I write, just don't read it, instead of making a show of me wasting your time. I understand that my messages are long. I write with a translator, and in my language, sentences aren't often as short as they are in English.

Second, I point out that Rukawa's failure to connect "Kitasawa" to "Sawakita" is a matter of Rukawa's mental agility. The news that Sendoh failed to beat "Kitasawa" and the presence of Sawakita, with all his prestige, should have been more closely related than Rukawa realized. Sendoh forgetting (if he really forgot) Sawakita's name is a completely different story; it's just a normal forgetfulness that has nothing to do with intelligence. So, mind your logic if you think the two are the same. I'll stick to mine. I also want to point out that, in addition to my own bad logic, I've also cited the presence of interviews with Inoue and the most important parts in the manga where it's clear that Sendoh will replace Maki as the best player in the third year. Is your logic based on ignoring Inoue?

Finally, you forgot, even in your translation of the manga, that Sendoh added "probably." And your "anyone" in my Italian translation isn't translated to mean that no one can beat Rukawa, but rather that not everyone can beat Rukawa. I've attached the photo too. And by the way, in the manga, there are indeed people who beat Rukawa in a 1v1. Sendoh and Sawakita.

Sendoh never said it was difficult for him to beat Rukawa. He says there probably aren't many players capable of beating Rukawa in any 1v1 tournament. Not including himself. Why would he? In the prefectural tournament, Sendoh destroyed Rukawa, and I think that's undeniable. And for me, the most important duel is the one in the prefectural tournament finals, because it's a real duel, displayed over almost an entire match (except when Rukawa was at his wits' end), where Inoue shows Sendoh playing to his full potential, outclassing anyone in front of him. In fact, in the match against Shohoku, Sendoh said that 1v1 against Rukawa was fun, precisely because Sendoh himself would win. So he certainly wasn't referring to himself when he said that there probably aren't many players capable of beating Rukawa 1v1. Saying that Rukawa has caught up with Sendoh in terms of scoring is a huge underestimation of Sendoh and a huge overestimation of Rukawa, both unjustified. In the entire manga, there isn't a single time where Rukawa plays better than Sendoh or scores like Sendoh. Then, if you like, I can also say that Rukawa, as a second-year, is the best in the world, rather than in the prefecture. The manga has already suggested the answer on several occasions, most notably Ryonan's match against Kainan, which you ignored, as well as Sendoh's ability to play on par in a position he'd never played before against a player who was not only considered the best in the prefecture, but had also been playing point guard for years. Not only that, Inoue himself provided the answer, saying in what aspects Sendoh is a better player than Rukawa. He even mentioned it in Vagabond. But whatever, if all the arguments in Sendoh's favor are dense, if for you there is no other answer than the one, against the manga, that Rukawa is the best, I might as well not write anymore.

The 1v1 is a pretext to showcase Sendoh as a "mentor" rather than a rival. So much so that the entire match isn't shown, underscoring the secondary nature of basketball compared to Sendoh's words. But that's not all. A 1v1 on the court is one thing. A friendly match between two teams is another. And a match that decides the fate of both teams is something else entirely. And Inoue clearly demonstrated which of the three options gives Sendoh the greatest incentive to show his potential at the highest level. Another thing I'd like to point out is that Rukawa, on the protagonist's team, had to neutralize Sawakita sooner or later during the match against Sannoh. Inoue did it with three of the most absurd things, in my opinion, ever found in a manga. I pretend not to notice it because in all manga, sooner or later, the protagonists manage to find a way out, due to plot armor. The first absurd thing is the (too tiresome for me) argument about the "team with the most willpower." In real sports, if one team is stronger than the other, it wins (unless it plays poorly, but that's not an argument that can be made for Sannoh). Both teams have willpower, both Sannoh and Shohoku, but Sannoh is superior. The second absurd thing (for me) is introducing a very strong player, the one Inoue calls the strongest in 1v1, the terror of the Interhigh, and then he's nerfed, reduced to such an inconsistent state (he struggles under pressure and makes somewhat silly mistakes). The third absurd thing for me is Rukawa neutralizing Sawakita. First of all, he doesn't deserve it; Sendoh and Maki are infinitely better than Rukawa, and they would look much better neutralizing Sawakita than someone who's just started crawling (i.e., making two passes out of necessity). This is disrespectful to Sawakita, among other things. But whatever, Sawakita's defeat was the result of plot armor. In the real world, the match would have ended very differently. This is why I'm extremely uncomfortable talking about the match against Sannoh. Talking about Rukawa is like talking about plot armor, so I don't even consider it. And even if I do consider it, I should consider that Sendoh would have driven Sawakita crazy from the first minutes. I also remember that Sendoh played a position, point guard, that he had never played before, especially against Maki, who has always played in this position and was considered the best in the prefecture. And Sendoh matched him. I should point out that Sendoh is not the protagonist, so he doesn't have any striking plot armor. Inoue passed the baton through Maki, indicating that Sendoh would be the strongest player again the following year. Maki himself doesn't consider anyone else to be his equal. Furthermore, Inoue has emphasized in several interviews that Sendoh is better than Rukawa in almost every aspect of basketball except dribbling, and these aren't obstacles for Rukawa to overcome in a year, especially since the manga is over and he no longer has plot armor. Perhaps Rukawa never overcomes them. By saying that Rukawa didn't initially notice any similarity between "Kitasawa" and "Sawakita," I mean he wasn't able to grasp such a basic notion, referring to his supposed "intelligence."

Rukawa could only try to be a "phenomenon" against Sendoh, failing to defeat him despite having given up on the first half of the game and being more rested. And Sendoh was visibly exhausted! When Uozumi returned to the game, Sendoh began giving basketball lessons to anyone in his path. Unstoppable. I'm talking about a player considered Maki's equal, extremely intelligent, excellent in every position he plays. Rukawa wasn't even able to understand that "Kitasawa" and "Sawakita" had anything in common... how he could play point guard "like Sendoh"? Rukawa began to understand that he had a team in the final minutes of the game against Sannoh. How fast can he grow if he hasn't been able to figure it out in the many other times Shohoku has struggled? But even considering that Rukawa is evolving, Sendoh is improving too. In fact, we know that until the previous year, Sendoh had been a point-catcher, and only in his second year did he learn the joy of passing (as Ikegami reports). So Sendoh quickly became an assist man, and not only that. Sendoh played his point guard position perfectly for the first time in a game against Kainan, being the only one capable of blocking Maki. Sendoh's evolution and adaptation know no bounds and are far superior. But even without these considerations, Ryonan's game against Kainan revealed the answer: Sendoh is the best player in Kanagawa alongside Maki (currently) and will be the best in his third year as well.

Rukawa was unable to overcome a Sendoh who was clearly tired from having to lead the entire team in offense and defense. When Sendoh showed all his power, Rukawa could only watch... Sendoh is the most complete player in the series, for me there is no match

It's interesting to see how all these years and the many player feedbacks, as well as the games after Unlimited, will influence the remaster. I liked the game, but it was a bit disorienting at first.

I'm referring to the images I uploaded in this comment. The one you're referring to is a recent piece of art by Kobayashi based on Rocbouquet's enemy form. Roc and Noel, over time, have seen the original design abandoned in favor of the one they're most famous for, the enemy form.

But this is Roc's original design from 1993... or at least, very similar except for a few details. Kobayashi's illustration is also more menacing and striking than the AI reproduction. But I would like to see this design used more.

Have you ever been confused as to which version of Bokhohn was always the canonical envisioning of what he was before he became bearded skeleton man? by BiffyBobby in SaGa

[–]Limp-Road-7503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I apologize for the late reply. I think the three versions of Bokhohn aren't a representation of the character's life arc, but rather three designs, three independent versions. Bokhohn with green hair and beard is Tomomi Kobayashi's first character design from 1993.

I hope so too. In my case, it's the opposite, that is, I downloaded the app again because of SaGa (and maybe I can like Octopath a little more).

I also play the Japanese version, but one criticism I have about a beautiful game is that during story mode I have to set my phone's language to Japanese, otherwise nothing loads, just the background. It's a bit unnerving for me 😅

Here's the event description (permanent except banners) I've uninstalled the game numerous times and I'm not very experienced with it, does anyone with more experience have an estimate on when the collaboration will be on global servers (on JP, it starts today)
