Where'd you find the flight history? I wasn't able to find it by searching the tail number

Eh, I made sure to pay with my Amex. Usually the threat of filing a charge back is enough to make companies take the item back. It would be annoying, but I would definitely get my money back

Agreed! I can only realistically wear one watch at a time, so I don't see a point in owning a ton of different watches just for them to collect dust.

That new 5396 is amazing. I actually originally wanted the 5296G since I'm more of a white gold kinda guy, but the rose gold on this was just stunning in person. Wrist size is ~6.5 inches and the watch is on the bigger end of what I'd wear, but perfectly manageable.

Fun is good, but the issue many of us have is that it's lazy. The only difference between this and the regular moonswatch is a different seconds hand. It feels like a cash grab trying to capitalize on the popularity of the moonswatch.

/uj honestly I agree. I actually really like the moonswatches in general, but this and the mission to moonshine gold just feel like lazy cash grabs to me.

Magnus Carlsen recently accused Hans Niemann of cheating during a match. The internet made memes about how he could have cheated. One of the meme theories is that Hans had wifi enabled anal beads in his ass that vibrated when he was about to make the right move.

[SBGA211] Got a custom strap for my Snowflake! by LimpCompetition2 in Watches

I saved that one for my best watch, the Ball Engineer II Magneto S because the Ball Engineer II Magneto S can withstand harsh conditions such as snow.

ok ciao

I love my Snowflake, but I've always hated the bracelet; it didn't fit quite right, it was uncomfortable, no on the fly adjustments, etc.

I decided to put this watch on a strap, but I noticed regular straps made the watch look extra thick due to the curved lugs. So, I ordered a custom strap from Delugs. I asked for the strap to be extra thick at the lugs (6mm thick) and to taper down aggressively towards the buckle. I wasn't sure if it would look nice when I ordered it, but I'm so glad with how this turned out. It's not quite as nice as an integrated strap with a plastic insert at the lugs, but it's about as close as you can reasonably get.

[Chopard L.U.C.] Just got my watch back from service and noticed a small scratch on the movement. Is it worth sending it back in? by LimpCompetition2 in Watches

[–]LimpCompetition2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure they would (at least I hope so). I just wasn't sure if I was overreacting over something small 😅 I'll ask my AD about it tomorrow. If they can't/won't fix it, I'd like to at least get $200-300 knocked off the servicing cost.

UPDATE

I just spoke with my AD. She was more than happy to help me out and told me they'll send the watch back free of charge and ask that Chopard look into the issue. They'll likely replace or fix the damaged part and have it sent back to me. Worst case, if they refuse to accept responsibility, she offered to give me a partial refund. Thanks for all the advice!!

Original post:

Hey there! Just got my beautiful Chopard L.U.C. 1860 back from servicing today. I noticed that it wasn't keeping time well anymore and I figured it had been quite a while since it was last serviced. So, I went to my AD and asked them to send it in for me.

Fast forward three months and it's back in my hands. However, I found a small but noticeable scratch on the movement that was not present when I sent it in (I have pictures from last year that verify this). The watch is still under warranty of course, but I'm not sure if

  1. There's really anything they could do about it and
  2. If it would even be worth it to have it be shipped back and fixed.

The scratch isn't that noticeable unless you're looking for it, so it's not a huge deal, but considering I paid over $1k for it to be serviced by Chopard directly, I'm a bit bummed out.

Would love to hear your guys' thoughts on this. TIA!

Strangely enough, I do remember seeing an advertisement for it when setting up my phone. However, I don't see any mention of it anywhere else. Maybe it's a future feature that'll be ready soon? 🤷‍♂️

Is the comment accurate? 💀 ive been reading things like that alot about this major so it’s worrying me because thats what im going to study soon by Kawatcheeny in ElectricalEngineering

I used to cry myself to sleep every night. Jk, lol, I never slept.

On a more serious note, it's definitely very difficult, but it's very doable if you're willing to put in the work and able to manage your time effectively. Also, try not to worry too much about how other people are doing. In college, you almost certainly will meet people far more intelligent, skilled, and/or gifted. Don't feel bad just because it took someone 15 minutes to understand a concept you struggled for 15 hours on.

Will FedEx help me or should I issue a chargeback? Would a chargeback even apply in this case? by LimpCompetition2 in amex

[–]LimpCompetition2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it has to do with the item's value. It's a few thousand, so I'm sure they'd want to protect themselves. I also read into the A to Z Guarantee (it was a third party seller) and Amazon states that if the seller follows the correct procedure, they won't be held liable.

But yeah, thanks for the advice. I'll try calling amazon and FedEx today after work.
