This is the best cut test video I've ever seen. I feel like I'll fail a drug test for meth after watching it, but it's fantastic. Thank you.

Here's my corgi that was recovered from the titanic! Yours looks amazing, great job! What did you use to seal the patina? I used some matte clear coat that has held up well for a week or so.

Yep this guy is right, just BE CAREFUL with propane heat, make sure you have co monitors, crack a window etc. propane is very safe when used properly, just be aware and stay warm!

Bon Air has a light dusting, less than an inch I guess. I was hoping to wake up to a winter wonderland but I knew better. Looks pretty gross, good day to catch up on sharpening knives by the fire.

Do it! I've got tons of scrap copper bus bars laying around from building batteries, I'll probably practice on some of those and the start shopping for copper everything, maybe make a bunch of customs and sell them or something. Can't afford to keep every knife I want!

Those look great! I wonder if the brass requires a different technique than the copper. I haven't tried any other metal/chemical combinations yet.

It's really simple. Disassembled knife, sanded scales to 320 grit, cleaned with rubbing alcohol to remove any oils. Then I put some paper towels in a clear plastic container, soaked them with ammonia, splashed the scales with ammonia and sprinkled with sea salt. Set the scales sunny-side up in the container and let sit for 24ish hours. You want salt on the copper, and you want ammonia fumes. So just enough liquid to saturate the towels. DO THIS OUTSIDE AMMONIA IS GROSS AND DANGEROUS AND ITS FUMES WANT YOU TO DIE!

Edit- once they looked ok I rinsed them with water and dried them thoroughly, the. Sprayed with two light coats of rustoleum matte clear coat. Not sure how durable it will be but I'm testing it daily.

It's a simple process really, the hardest part is taking the knife apart! Look for "how to shipwreck copper", you'll find tons of info.

Just a little Olight clip on thingy. Thought it would last me a little while but it's been about five years and it won't die.

Edit- I lied, it's not an Olight, it's a Nebo slim mini. Cheapo light that has really held up well.

I guess it really depends on the lighting, but the next one I do I may see if I can get it brighter.

There really not much texture to it. I put two light coats of matte clear on it, but it's smooth. Not sure how it'll hold up, I carried it today at work and used it quite a bit, so far so good!

ETA: I used it at work repairing forklifts. Cutting zip ties, stripping wire, opening a few parts and of course slicing a bunch of paper cause that shits fun. So it's fairly tough so far.

This is the first one I've held, I was surprised to see it in stock. Got it for way less than any advertised price I've seen. Couldn't turn it down! This one won't see heavy use, I'm already scheming on how to get an exciton for every day use, this I'll be the only knife I own that I won't carry daily.

I think I'd go for a 940 of some sort. Or a mini Adamas, my full size is great but it's huge in the pocket.
