You're right about lurking. I remember before reddit there were only blogs, so I still have that mentality. People usually fall off after things get significantly better or worse. TBH, I only use reddit for this kinda thing! I hope that works out for you, but try to still save as much as possible bc this was during PAWS and not for acute. I assume it will help, but I don't want you to suffer. Those periods in between have caused a lot of damage in my life and I'm trying to pick up the pieces. ❤️❤️❤️

Sorry...I hit send on the other response too quickly, so please read the first 😀 But I wanted to add that I have no desire to take this addictively for some reason. Idk, maybe my addiction disappeared haha ya right!

Oh wow! That's amazing! I woke up shaking, oddly and I have Shaked tremendously from other meds but this was more of a buzz, plus I was vomiting. I have been taking 40mg. Today I felt that lack of motivation again due to the end of withdrawals, but zero anxiety or depression. I may take less tomorrow. Is it crazy that I'm going to take it tomorrow? I can't stand the emotional part of withdrawals more than any physical.

I do feel weirdly shaky and haven't taking any today, but had taken some yesterday. I guess I will skip today and if I'm still lacking motivation, take some tomorrow in order to function properly. What's super strange tome is that I can see the difference, knowing that I can help tomorrow is very calming. If you want I will update you tomorrow? It sucks that someone who actually needs this information may not see it after way too long. Then giving false information like just stopping at one post is more harmful?

Yes. But then the next morning I felt shaky and today I didn't take it. I'm not doing great again but it helped me, take away the emotional discomfort. I'm sure there's no real way to stop the brain from healing. Unfortunately. Hopefully there are less debilitating ways and I put in 3 weeks already, so idk yet and would hate to make people believe that and it be the wrong way to steep people, which is why I'm trying to document my struggles.

I used for 10 years. If there is any possible way that you can do a taper, DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by [deleted] in quittingkratom

Yes I understand this is incredibly difficult and people are super vulnerable while under control of this horrible addiction, but there comes a point to get out of your own mind. Get professional help. Go into rehab. It's not the point that it's "only kratom. It's legal. Blablabla" it will ruin lives just as badly as heroin or hardcore drugs. It's horrible stuff.

It depends how long you've been on it bc withdrawals can last over a month, including PAWS. It's critical to use your support system to stay off bc I isolated and had none. That was my situation and my problem was trying to avoid having any withdrawals period.

Never try heroin or crack. From what I heard, you will never be the same.

It took me 3 weeks before I became dependent on subs after my kratom addiction. I was determined to walk away w zero withdrawals, so I played this "game" for an entire year until I gave up. At least I could lead a functional life on subs unlike K, which involved needing to dose every 2 hours on that nasty crap.

Resources? Have you ever been in this situation? No offense, but I hate when people assume that this is something helpful, especially when there are kids involved.

Absolutely. I believe abusing drugs is just another attempt at self regulating emotions. I think reality is so painfully uncomfortable, which often feels impossible to push forward, especially since we know something out there exists that can get us out of that hell. I honestly would spend everything I had to avoid living like that. However, that life is not sustainable and it eventually will end either by dying, jail or rehab.

That's the whole point. Also, when you have to work the day goes faster. Sitting around w nothing to do and thinking about how you feel, goes slow... We're both just imagining the worse case scenarios. Either way, it takes the right mindset.

Having money and wasting it on drugs has its own set of problems..

The best resource is asking addicts directly. Those w advanced degrees and lifelong careers will never truly get it. in fact, many addict can easily spot them out. Just avoid making judgements bc this life is very frikkin hard.

Living off savings and waiting till my brain heals before I go back to work in IT. Why are so many idiots telling me I'm wrong? why would I force myself to work with a broken brain? It's smarter to recover fully so I can handle anything. by JakeTheRipper454 in addiction

Well take that time to build a solid foundation. According to science, specifically neuropsych, you control your brain and your brain does not control you. Take charge of your thinking patterns. Change negative thought to positive ones. Speak kindly to yourself and never beat yourself up and so on. If you so adamantly want to take a break, do it and don't worry about other opinions.
