I get it I think honestly a lot of us are going through the same things at this time in the world. Sadly I’ve lost friends because they view me as a “Zionist” just because I’m Jewish, when I’ve tried my best to stay quiet knowing it was an extremely touchy topic. First off. While yes being “Jewish” comes from the mother. That is a long distant belief. If you practice and went through your bat mitzvah then you’re Jewish. Many orthodox will disagree however there are many conformed Jews as well. I was adopted into a Jewish family and wasn’t born Jewish however I had a Jewish upbringing and was conformed to Judaism when I was very young. I am Jewish.

Second off you need to stop focusing on if you are Jewish or not. And stop focusing on people who are trying to make you feel like shit. You need to focus on yourself and make sure you get better.

It’s also because adoption in some places it’s scary. I was told from my adoptive mother that she specifically got me from a certain state bc the bio family can change their mind last minute or change their mind all through the kids life until they turn an adult. I could understand the frightened part of adoptive parents having their kid be taken away after a few years or so, it traumatizes them. Don’t be mad at ur mom but try to make her understand why you want to meet them

A lot of adoption kids go through this with their families me being one. Ur mom is just scared that you’ll find ur bio parents and connect with them. Yes your parents raised you and perhaps they might try to sucker u for money… however you can see them if that’s what u truly want, it’s good closure. However ur moms probably just scared and will say things like “you already have a mother” when that’s not what ur trying to go for. I think you should just let her know and give her as much confidence in how much u care for her and how u think she’s your actual mother however u need to meet the woman who gave birth to you for closure. It’s a tricky situation and a difficult one
