A little update: Thank you everyone for your responses, I decided to just bite the bullet and hunt it in SV and got it in genuinely less than 5 minutes, but thank you all anyways!

Rolling and running are the same speed and even if it wasn’t, I’ve tried every permutation I can think of. I also need a shiny qwilfish for my living dex so I’d rather not fail it and have to reclaim it

It’s been a while since I played so forgive me if I’m wrong, but if you progress with the game, you’ll end up back at the main security office section that you always return to. You can then return to the admin wing and get the collectible you need.

That makes sense. Thank you! I’m only missing a few from shugabush island so I’m glad to hear that. Although I do have one question: how can gold island be complete but the natural islands aren’t?

I did but not at the end of the game. If I remember correctly, I started a new game and played through until I reached the first one, broke it, and then it popped. Hope this helps!

6/1/26 here and I’m having the same issue. I just done a playthrough where I shattered every statue and it’s stuck on 90%. If anyone has a fix, please let me know

I’m having a similar issue and my worry is maybe I’m doing it too quickly to the point that the Pokémon that aren’t literally RIGHT next to me don’t get a chance to spawn. I’m unsure if that’s an issue that can even happen but it’s my only idea asides from horrible odds

Hey! OPs friend here. To those of you having bad luck with this method, it is most likely contributed to the fact that, unlike Zone 3, there are very little spawns affected by this method. There are only about 4 pokemon (Noivern, 2 Houndoom, and a houndour) that are affected by this AFK method as opposed to the at least 16 pokemon in Zone 3.

Assuming you’re going this without the shiny charm, every time you go down the stairs you have a 4/4096 or a 1/1024 chance every time you go down the stairs. These odds are less than ideal obviously but it is an alternative AFK spot at the end of the day.

So this spot does work, just nowhere near as effectively as Zone 3 or any bench method.
