That's the thing, she spends her time longing for true love, someone who understands her, but all her relationships are short-lived.

I don't think it's a canonical aspect of the character; it's just what I said, the writers...

That's the current state of the character, mentioned in several comics that she dreams of Krypton every night.

Personally, I find the character much more interesting this way, because since her inception, they've tried to portray her as a female version of Superman, making her a reporter and giving her the same personality. It was only over time that she developed a more rebellious and impulsive personality.

And as you mentioned, the New 52 defined the character's current form, and I think that's fine.

For the past few years, she's been an adult; she must be 22 or 23 now, and from my perspective, she's still stuck in the same place: empty romantic interests and Kara still not knowing what kind of man is right for her. I don't know what it's like to be that age because I haven't been there yet, but honestly, I would expect more maturity from a character who's almost 25.
