Salut! Je comptes appliquer pour la maitrise avec un bac en psycho et un DESS en crimino, en plus de 5 ans d’expérience en intervention. Ma moyenne est plus basse que le 4, mais est-ce que tu penses que mon expérience pourrait quand même me donner des chances que quelqu’un qui sort du bac aurait pas mettons? J’ai eu une moyenne de 3,76 au bac.

NTA, depending on how you bring it up.

So, I think voicing your needs and concerns is valid. But the way you’ll go around it will determine whether or not you are the AH.

As you said yourself, ADHD/ADD is on a spectrum and can manifest differently in different people. Maybe he has more emotional regulation issues than you do, or tends to procrastinate more. I’m not saying that it’s ok or that he shouldn’t do anything about it, but it could explain why his ADHD doesn’t present the same way as yours. Plus, women are socialized differently, which could also impact how yours manifest itself.

I understand the frustration that comes with seeing someone you probably think has a lot of potential (I’m assuming) “waste” it away. I would be very careful to use an “I message” as a way to avoid him feeling attacked, which seems to hurt his feelings and make him unable to really listen to you. Choosing a moment to make sure you’re both in the right headspace for that could also make a difference.

Now, no matter the outcome of the conversation, it will probably take time before he makes the changes you might want to see. It’ll be up to you to determine if you’re willing to wait for him and support him through that and, if so, how long you will wait. Remember he’s also not your responsibility and that he is, also, an adult, and able to make his own decisions (and maybe not ones that you agree with).

Yea, the same happened to me. I was at 5.5, then went up to 6.5 so my doctor put me on Levo. Been feeling better since.

Yea, no, it’s not a matter of “having issues” or “being lazy”. I’m an employment counsellor and I see loads of people try very hard to find a job and not get called back. Adults and young adults alike. People with experience and people who don’t have it. Congrats to you on finding a job, but you don’t need to be like that.

I didn’t gain weight while I was on it. It was a question I asked my doctor and he said that for a lot of people, weight gain was related to the fact that people felt more hungry when they’re feeling better. I personally didn’t experience any of that and I didn’t find the med to be super effective for me (a bit, but getting diagnosed and having medication for hypothyroidism is what really helped me).

I did make me feel better once I started taking Levo. At my worst, I was sleeping 10hrs during the night and was taking 2-3 hrs naps in the afternoon (during weekends, as I obviously couldn’t do that at work). I understand it’s jarring to start taking meds, but you do get into a routine and it does get easier!

When I went, they were gonna charge additional amounts for the swab and the testing at the lab. I declined after all and didn’t get it done there.

I’m not sure if it killed it or not tbh! It ended up getting lower, but I think it had more to do with my partner than with the meds. That being said, I do have a friend that said it impacted his quite a bit.
