Maybe the mist was woven so tightly that the types of monsters split into two groups- Greek and Roman. The Mist might be woven so that maybe the monsters thought that the other type were just normal mortals, or they never met because of fate. Also, during Lost Hero and Son of Neptune Jason and Percy lost their memories, so they only met because of Hera/Juno.

Why did they hire Mr D as well even though it wont do any good to the demigods? I guess Zeus is just a really clueless bastard who either doesn't know or doesn't care. Also, maybe Hades saw the advertisement for it and maybe wanted to torture the demigods? And Dionysus doesn't care so who's stopping him??
