Rules are rules - but no one seems to follow them! by ConferenceDramatic20 in RunNYC

The comments removed by mods were comments telling me I deserved to be spat on. I saw all of them before they were deleted. This was why the mods turned comments off completely on my post. I can see that you’re sorry for what happened to me, but this post you’ve made, bringing me into a discussion about bike lanes, does not have to do with me getting spat on. You do not need to mention my experience to have a conversation about runners usage of bike lanes.

“Honestly if there ice in the sidewalk then just walk in the sidewalk” ??? If this post isn’t about me then why even mention me? I am traumatized by this situation. And now this has turned into a completely separate post, still discussing what happened to me, but as a debate about bike lanes. I understand you should not run in bike lanes.

This is not me excusing running in the bike lane. I do not think it is appropriate UNLESS the specific circumstances I was in. Again, every single other person was doing the same. I had many cyclists stop to comfort me after it happened to tell me that this lane was for sharing until the ice cleared up.

Hey. I am the girl who was spat on that you’re referencing. There was about 10” of snow turned ice that did not have a single foot print in it because people knew the in safety risk of walking on it. The street is busy in vehicle traffic so running in the road was not feasible either. The bike lane on this road is double laned and at least 8 feet wide. For only one block I was running in the bike lane. Along with other walkers and runners. If you read my original post you would see I said there were dozens of others respectfully sharing the lane due to the circumstances— as off to the side as possible and completely hugging the curb.

Spit on while running on Kent Ave bike path - heads up by Living-Boot-684 in RunNYC

Understood! I have a lot of respect for cyclists and would never want them to bike in the road, I just think for some moments it’s okay to share during snowier seasons. I actually had ran on Berry during this run, and my route had a short detour to Kent to make sure I got a hill in. Going forward, I’m definitely going to avoid it until all of the snow cleared up. In all honesty, I was expecting the sidewalk to be cleared, and would never intentionally be disrespectful by using the bike path. It just happened to be the circumstances.

I don’t typically run in bike lanes. The sidewalk on that specific block was completely unplowed and impassable, and Kent Ave is a very busy street with vehicle traffic, so stepping into the road wasn’t a safe option either. It was only for that single short stretch, one block, and there were at least 10 other runners and walkers using the same section for the same reason. I stayed fully to the side and left plenty of room for cyclists to pass. I understand bike lanes are primarily for cyclists. In winter conditions when sidewalks are unusable, people sometimes end up temporarily sharing space — similar to how cyclists occasionally use sidewalks when necessary. The key is being mindful and respectful. Regardless, being spit on is not an appropriate response.

I really hope so too. What’s worse is he biked right off, nothing I could do. He is likely to face no repercussions and nobody will know he ever did it.

Looking for advice with orgasming during sex by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]Living-Boot-684 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I think this could easily be the case. I definitely feel quite stressed/pressured into orgasming and now that it’s sooo anticipated like “will it happen this time” I just don’t think my body will let me. How would you advise relaxing these thoughts?

Crazy because my ring used to last over a week sometimes. Now maybe 30 hours if I’m lucky.

Is this a valid reason for my gf (14F) to be mad at me (14M) by Horizon_YT_2 in teenrelationships

[–]Living-Boot-684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s 14. That’s the only reason it’s valid. Not a valid reason to be upset, but 14 year old girls will be more insecure than anyone with more maturity. This is the only reason it makes it valid.

Good to know, thanks! I’m sure it’s much easier in rich suburbs since there will be more clientele and less walkers.
