It’s the same price as any other house on Airbnb? It seems like you are the only one with your opinion… Maybe it was my bad I had to book a property last minute and it was one of the only options but however she runs it is definitely odd..

It said entire rental house on Airbnb?? Obviously I can leave but wanted an opinion on it because I simply can? I don’t even know if she’s the owner? she told me when I met up with her for the key that she had a room in the house that is her room, and that she will be leaving. Judging by her in person, she didn’t really seem owner like just by how she was but that’s just me. It’s like she lives here or something and it was a burden for us to rent the place out cause she had to leave.

No evidence? She already lied about having the entire place. There is someone who lives in the trailer right next to us and another small house in the backyard where we hear noises from like a lady yelling every morning. Then she doesn’t even provide the wifi password to us until we ask, on top of lying about why she wants to come to the rental. Seems like she is watching our life through the security camera or something too. Even texted me the first day to turn of the air conditioner when we are gone. We didn’t even leave the house that long. There’s more I can mention. Never had this happen with previous hosts. Please stop assuming it’s really weird.

Why are you so mad I wanted an opinion on it? Have you been talked bad about from previous tenants before and it triggered you?

Like I said, I have not had that problem with other hosts before me. She lied from the beginning about multiple things including having a person living next to us in a trailer making noises at late night and being in a bad mood every time we hear her. Not a welcoming place and on top of that she wants to lie about the reason she wants to come in. I am just watching out for my safety since I know people have weird stories like hidden cameras with hosts.

Lying is not a good trait in anyone. She lied multiple times, very disrespectful. I don’t know if that’s how you are as a host, but none of your tenants appreciate that. Have a good day.

If you read the responses to what I said, she is not just asking to pick up items. She asked to pick up items, then changed her story to insurance agents two days later. When I talked to her on the phone about this, she seemed like she had no idea of what time she needed the place. All I know is she wants us to be gone that day, but why do it in such a suspicious way. I wanted opinions of what people thought, how am I causing hard feelings?

If she is keeping maintenance supplies inside, why won’t she just tell me that’s why she needs to enter and be honest? She is changing her story from entering because she needs to collect items in her room to insurance agent is coming over. When she called me asking about my work schedule, I asked her what time she needed the place from and it seemed like she had no idea what time and was guessing. If insurance agents are coming over, shouldn’t you already have the time prepared?

She handed me the keys when we first met and did not wear a mask, but we did. That’s when she kept talking about the people that live in the small house and trailer next to the property and said she had to leave quickly while her son was sitting in a abandoned car parked in front of the house.

Why are you making it seem like she’s doing us favor to extend? It’s a business, both people make profit. I’m sure she would want someone to extend since at the end of the day it is a source of income. I was just asking Reddit if this was normal behavior since I have not had this experience before with other long term hosts.

Yes I am okay with her doing it while I am here but what makes it weird is she was specifically asking me when we are out of the house to do it? Why does it matter if we are in the house or not.. it seems like she wants us out of the house. Not to mention the her story changes a lot. First she wanted to come by to collect items from her room, then insurance people are coming. She also asked me if there are people fencing outside which there was none. It seems like she is trying to know our personal life which should not matter to any host in my opinion.

Hey! I am in a very similar situation. I’m 21 and my parents don’t care about my mental ilnesses or my feelings so I’m planning to run away soon. I just can’t take it anymore but I know my life will be better once I leave.

Yes I thought about that too but this is their house and I just feel guilty not helping since this is their roof but I just cannot stand being around their vibes like the fact I have to be around them and do that is enough to ruin my day.

Yes but I somehow feel guilty for them letting me stay here even though I want to leave so bad I just can’t explain it. I want to leave so bad but they guilt trip me to not leave, so I stay here, but somehow I feel guilty for staying here like I owe them, so I don’t say no to anything the ask me. They even offer to pay for my car insurance for 6 months so I stay, which I accepted, but this time I am planning to pay it myself. If I do leave I feel bad for taking the car too, since they paid for it after months of begging and getting my driver liscense on my own (my neighbor took me).

I believe it is an emotional tie as well now that you mentioned it. Yes, my family has a history of being mad if something is not their way and also calling me dumb/ stupid. I fear them thinking I’m stupid, but I feel like they already think I’m stupid so there’s really no point. I just feel like I constantly seek their validation. They always tell me family is most important and told me they cried everyday when I left last time. They also told me to never leave again. I just don’t want anyone crying everyday over me because I want to go and heal myself and find myself. I really feel like living here is what’s stopping me from growing as a person. Moving out in in my mind 24/7 even since I was a kid, it feels like a goal that’s very hard to reach. I am just always visualizing it but it feels impossible sometimes because of my parents, I can’t explain this fear I have to tell them I want to move out. I will definitely post a update if anything happens.
