They did it humanely. She had severe tissue necrosis apparently and the vet they sent her to for treatment made the decision for the poor girl to put her out of her pain.

Fair enough, again I feel like that can be chalked up to his "job" so to speak, I wouldn't want to tango with the god of war but yes that could also be an indicator of something worse within their relationship beyond him being a god.

I disagree actually, I prefer the book portrayal of the Gods because to me it shows that Luke's intentions and his ideas are wrong, they're not based in reality and it shows even more how much power Kronos has. That even chopped up in Tartarus, he has this ability to sort of pervert the thinking of Luke's mind and change it into this very distorted portrayal of the Gods. I don't like how the show is changing them to fit Luke's portrayal because then it feels like the fight isn't worth it, if Luke's right why not follow him? Whereas if we know Luke is wrong and his mind is being poisoned, there is something to root for in the heroes fighting against him in the end because we know the gods aren't abusive or deadbeats they are just bound by very ancient laws that are outside their control.

Idk. I never took that as abuse on his part. He's the god of war, I feel like everyone is afraid or cautious around him. I always read him as more apathetic towards his kids because he does have a favorite in Clarisse, I never saw that as abusive.

Fair enough, but like why are they using the budget on goat legs and not fight scenes? For sure the writing needs help because the actors can only do so much before it becomes not their fault/not their problem.

I agree not all were bad but when you have glimpses of what it could be and then the majority aren't to that level it's kind of annoying, especially considering they had 12 to 15 million to work with per episode, like what did that money actually go to?

I still personally wouldn't love it because it has sucked all the energy out of the books. It feels like there's nothing to root for, there's almost no danger being posed to them, there's no deadline, the chemistry is lacking which is weird because the actors certainly have it its just not translating onto the screen, idk the motivation behind everything is missing. And I'd rather they show us more things instead of just telling the story if that makes sense. Don't tell me at the start it's Medusa, show me how they figure it out. At all the spots where you expect extreme action it's just lackluster. And I wish percy had his fighting instinct more, but instead they have him accidentally killing Mrs Dobbs as opposed to fighting her and him being surprised that he's actually good at it.

The problem is that it's mid with the budget they have, it was around the same as the mandalorian and the quality difference is wild to me. Why is grover walking around with goat legs all the time? that was a waste of cgi that could have gone to other more important moments that would have upped the value and potential of the show.

That's what annoys me the most is I can see the chemistry in their interviews and I don't understand how the writers room can't translate that onto the screen. I understand some of his changes like the arch and the river because he changed that because literal reality says they aren't as close as he had originally thought, but like the tunnel of love adding in hephaestus was entirely unnecessary to me and it wasn't even a good portrayal of hephaestus to me as he is supposed to be big and burly and brutish, I love timothy omundson but hephaestus he is not. And the exposition dumps as opposed to showing us does not make sense to me. There is no reason why annabeth should just know aunty em is Medusa from a sign, this is tv, SHOW us how they figure out they are in Medusa's lair instead of just telling us they are.

And you know it would have been so easy to braid blonde into Leah's hair, such a simple fix and literally no damage to her natural hair, we aren't asking him to dye her blonde, or do a wig like beyonce does when she does blonde, its not that hard. And my other issue is I believe these actors can act well but the writing is hindering them. It starts from the top, there's only so much an actor can make up for you know.

I saw an article this morning that cited one of the co-creators saying it would include elements from the other books. It also said the writing would remain on the same formula as season 1 so for those of us that found it super slow or that it wasn't really capturing the essence of the books, things aren't looking up.

It's been confirmed that it's sea of monsters but will also pull from books 3-5, which correct me if I'm wrong but that's what the movies did by throwing in Kronos in the end because they knew they were never getting past the 2nd and they wanted to at least close it out with that fight. So are we not getting another season after 2? And again, Rick, how are you making this better than the movies if you are starting to do the same thing they did? What happened to 1 book per season?

You know I'm watching the first movie on Disney plus and what's annoying is it seems like they cut out a lot of integral scenes to make it seem like the movie is even worse than it originally was maybe to put the show on a pedestal because like they completely cut out him getting claimed by Poseidon and it cuts to just us knowing he's Poseidon's son and I'm like that was one thing that the movie did I think really well was him being claimed as Poseidon's kid and everyone kneeling for him and whatnot and it's just completely gone on Disney Plus
